Project Review

Greetings, Gentle Reader -

Whenever I start a project, I like to pause part way through to take a good look at my progress.

Where am I going with this, you ask? Even if you don't ask, let me tell you. LOL

I would definitely consider my being on this site a "project". I have an objective and I've been working behind the scenes toward meeting it. Unfortunately, I'm not as far along as I thought I'd be at this point.

I haven't been here terribly long but being a typical Aries, the lack of progression is maddening. Believe me, I am not sitting with a tiara on my head waiting for the guys to do the heavy lifting. For anything to work, it has to be a two-way street. I haven't had any hugely negative experiences compared to some of the horror stories I've read on here, so I consider myself extremely lucky.

Stumbling into the blog area and reading other people's opinions and adventures has also been extremely cool. I've gotten the opportunity to meet some excellent fellow bloggers and quite a few of them never cease to make me smile. (I've actually considered sticking around on the website JUST for the blogging, but then I'd taking up valuable space. LO

I'm definitely thinking about what my next steps should be. Get out while the gettin' is good or stick around a little bit longer?

You know, it just goes to show that despite so many tools at our disposal (profiles, pics, emails, chat, webcams, etc.), it's still not easy to connect with someone in a meaningful way.

Bummer. LOL

Opinions, as always, are welcome.

I know exactly what you mean.

Recently, I've closed up shop as far as the "looking" project goes.

But as far as taking up valuable space, what is the value of the few bytes it takes to support your blog? Don't you trade the value back with your witty observations and the entertainment you give a lot of folks each week? I'd say you more than balance the scale with the quality of your blog.

I'm sure you will reason through this and do what is best for you, even if that means shutting down the blog. Good luck either way. I do hope you'll keep enlightening us.

I thought I recognized you on this boat.

Please (oh,baby pleeze) stick around. Your blogs are so entertaining.

Think of it as exercise.

An exercise in futility

I get to post the first comment..I get to post the first comment....LOL

I like to think of A.F.F. as an Way-Station for the Emotionally Fractured. It's been my experience that 99.9 percent of the people I've met are dealing with some kind of issue in their lives. All except ME of course....lol
Lots of fun for some--but it does get tiresome at times. So why am I still here you ask, after two years? It's simple--the great recipes...

OH NO! sister girl, I know you are not weighing the thoughts of leaving us. I have been here for some years now(4) I wasn't active in it at first but then "I woke up" Now it's like a daily ritual. I love the people here reading the blogs, and getting comments. You are right there on the list with all the others. I got discouraged myself but I hung right on in there. I still love to chat on IMC inspite of the undesirables that hang out there. There are a few bloggers I have had the pleasure of talking too privately and they are truly decent people.

Hang in there girlfriend, things will happen for you here. I am sure you have a good decent life outside this site, but think of here as way to take away from the unpleasantries you may face on your bad days. Stay!

I am the real deal! "Come Get Me!!!"

Ebony, as you know, your heart leads the way. From my frame of reference...lucid talented people are impactual. Often to a degree that may slip by them.

LOL...don't make me beg.

Please stick around DCE. Eventually your prince will read your blog and you'll find what you're looking for. In the meantime, the rest of us get to laugh at those who send you emails without reading your profile or your blog.

Aw, shucks.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. You're all too kind.

You make a valid point, Mi. I will probably still get all sorts of blogworthy emails even if I decide the official "search" is over. If a lot of guys read my profile or email, I'd be fresh out of material

The exercise in futility is pretty much the only exercise I'm getting these days, so I should probably continue. LOL

This space will be considerably less valuable if you are no longer its keeper. Stay.

Gee, I dunno, DC, maybe you're just asking too much - I mean, it's not everyday someone offers you a two-pound penis ...

You probably are far too intelligent, witty, and charming for the likes of us - (I know, I shouldn't speak for everyone) - nevertheless, we're graced by your presence, and hope you stay - in that, I probably *can* speak for everyone.

Well, except for that *one* guy (that ray of sunshine who thinks you get your 'jollies' reading hostile e-mails) ...
