No show

Just curious on the no shows that pass by in our lives.

I remember when i was younger and i had a fancy lady wrapping her arm around mine, and we pass by a nuteral friends and they have a really fustrated face and they share that their date never showed (Both men and women) yet at the time i have my date so im not that worried, i give my Speach of "Im sorry, blah blah blah" and then move on.

Yet as the years pass and dates come and go, ive had my share of "No Shows" and ive had my speaches of "Im sorry, blah bla bla" given to me.... its not a great feeling is it ?

give a story on your preperation of getting all fancy for your date, and they never showed...I know you have one or two.

Blog it !

I setup a date, a blind date, on one of the old phone dating services back in the early 90's. We talked for days and finally agreed to meet. I bought tickets to a play, made reservations at a nice restaurant, spent money out of my very limited grad school student salary and waited for the day.

I was nervous and anxious and ready for the date, called early in the day to confirm and everything was on. We were to meet at the theater, watch the play, then go to eat. I arrived early and waited and waited and waited and waited. No show!

I so wanted to ditch the evening and go home and sulk and wallow in depression. Instead, I called a classmate, told her there was a free ticket waiting if she wanted to see a play and surprise, surprise, she made it on time. We had a great time, not as boyfriend/girlfriend, just as friends.

Yeah, I was bummed about the no show, but glad I didn't allow myself to become depressed.

lol, being stood up is the more painful situation i believe, its the preperation , the excitemen, makings sure everything is just perfect for your date....and then...a no show. OUCH

yet never being asked or having the balls (Can i say that?) and asking someone, never really know the pain, yet just wallow in their own pitty wich is another type of pain.

iluvjbsinaz What an excellent story my friend, a lady ruined your plan, yet she did not ruin your plan for the evening, and whats even better is that you had enough time to call someone else, and both of you made it for the show.

Being with just friends is not the same, yet it does help ache a little

This may sound sad but it was for my Junior prom. I was supposed to go with my friend but another guy asked me instead. He was soo cute and of course the silly little girl I was told my friend I wanted to go with this really cute guy and would he please understand. He did, What a fella. I bought our tickets for $45. So my mom paid to have my hair and nails done. We bought a $200 dress. My dad took me to get a professional make-up artist to paint my face. I was completely spoiled and pampered for the whole day. He was suppoed to pick me up at 7pm. At 9pm he still hadn't shown up yet. My friend was already at the prom and called to see why we hadn't shown up yet, I was in tears, he left the prom, came to my house, picked my up with a half dozen roses and a corsage and took me to the prom. Like I said, what a fella. He is still one of my best friends. I never saw the cute guy again. That guy didn't even go to my school. The drama of high school, it was fun while it lasted was n't it?

First of all let me say that was a Wonderful story, thank you so much for sharing !

I hope this isnt taken the wrong way, cause it isnt suppose to be, yet this is like a "Boy meets world" episode I watched (Season 2 i believe) where almost the same situation happened yet it all worked out at the end just like iluvjbsinaz's story.

Highschool drama is always the best, so important and dramatized at that moment, yet we can look back and just laugh at some "important" issues of the time.

Speaking of Junior proms, i remember mine just as clear as it was yesterday, yet i guess the class committee was trying to be creative and they called it morp, it sounds stupid now, and the main question....why that name ? Yet it was the highschool life and it stuck for everyone at the time, ok im done blabbering lol.
