Do you believe you have free will?
Most people would probably say yes. However, I'm coming to the conclusion that very few people truly believe in or understand free will.
How can one profess to have free will yet believe in sayings like "If it's meant to be, it will happen?"
I don't look at free will as a license to party or do unto others and then spit. I see it as just the opposite: I bear most of the responsibility for how my life has turned out. My problems are by and large of my own making; they are the results of choices that I made knowingly and unknowingly.
But how can I sleep at night bearing the burden of responsibility for every hurt I've ever caused another?
It's simple: I also believe in luck.
I define luck loosely as consequences which are either totally beyond the control of an individual or connected in such a convoluted way to an individual's actions as to be completely unpredictable and seemingly random. More simply: I can't always see that far ahead.
How do you feel about luck and free will? Are they your friends or your enemies?

I dont think we have free will. If we did, we would not have laws, right?
Luck????? I do believe we have luck and that luck and free will are friends!
