Untitled Poem

This one was written about a very special lady who I remember 5 years later as if I met her yesterday. She was beautiful, charming, sexy, and also married. We never went beyond the kisses, but aahhhh...the kisses.

Like a flash of pain. It hit me that way.
I felt her mint-scented breath and
Heard the tiny gasp as my own kiss
touched her ear
That certain, perfect point on her
Perfect ear, and the desire hit me
Like a flash of pain,
But better,
Quicker, and more real than the
Faint, gold circle and I pulled
Away, crying inside, but so strong,
Immutable on the outside.
We pried apart our bodies and
Our hearts in one quick denial
For right, for truth in promises,
For integrity, words
So meaningless in a moment
But so real in a lifetime and
We remain true, but
Sometimes sorry at our own virtue.
