Philip an his & Wives

I hopped out of the EHT last night and this documentary was on TV.
This man is an ex rabbi and believes that he is a king, due to some divine experiences he has had. He has 7 wives of various ages and backgrounds, some of whom he has kids with. They all live in a house in Brighton, supposedly in harmony.
He says his task, is so hard keeping harmony between all 7 women and having them truly believe in god. He chooses who he has sex with, shows affection to & who he allows into the house or not.
These women all bowed to his demands, it was quite shocking to see. During a family meeting he sat at the head of the table, whilst the wives explained their shortcomings in tears. He then preached at them using a microphone, just to make sure he got his point across.
They also showed the wives( god sanctioned the marriages), cleaning out a lorry used to transport horses while he sat on his horse and yelled out instructions.
It became clear this man enjoyed controlling these women and showing them how much better than them he was.
It is quite dumbfounding to see this situation in a modern & supposedly equal society.
Still considering what i saw.

I always wonder about those type of people when I see shows like that. I wonder how they get these women to follow them blindly?

I heard him being interviewed on Radio 2 yesterday, and it was quite interesting, actually. He had two of his wives with him in the studio, and these were quite articulate women. Their faith is Jewish, and everything revolved around their religion. I'm just sorry I missed the programme now...

They were and that was why it was more shocking to see. I`m sure it will be on again.

well in the UK , I'm sure he can only be married to one wife, but if the others live with him too, nothing to stop em ,
except common sense , I suppose

Yes, various voluntary relationships can be quite a puzzlement, to most, or many.
