What is youth?

In cruising the blogs here I really enjoy reading the ramblings and thoughts of the 20 somethings. They are fully engaged in life and living it to the fullest. It is a rare person that can sustain that zest for life beyond 40. There is a host of reasons and explanations for this but I think there must be one central truth to the matter. IMHO it is the ability to live completely in the moment and belief that the future is theirs to command. Even those of us who live a sheltered life eventually lose that ability and learns the limits of that ability.

but learning to accept those limitations and find happiness maybe the key to it. And maybe finding new paths to walk down that you haven't found the limitations on yet, maybe?? my husband is 41 and seems to have lost a step or two himself though he does not know why, I just encourage him to keep exploring new paths.. Maybe boredom, lack of new challenges plays a part in it.

I'm sure that's part of it. I was not in the same place for more than 3 years between 78 and 92 and having a job that takes me to a different location every day along with living hundreds of miles from where you grew up disconnects you from the passage of time, and quite alot of other things. Eventually patterns are unavoidable and I'm sure the desire for change to help ignore the passing of the years is a contributing factor in many divorces. Your a good woman to attempt bringing your hubby some excitement and change.
