Simple joys are sometimes the best!

Haven't been posting much lately, have been reading other blogs though. I'm sorting through how best to accomplish another career change and it takes allot of my energy. Riding motorcycles has always been my best battery charging tool. This week I loaded up the wing and made a whirlwind 3 day trip to central Minnesota and back for work. 1300 miles in 60 hrs plus 3 hrs of factory work with allot of phone work during my fuel stops. It was still all n all an enjoyable experience but nothing like today! When we found out the wife was pregnant with our son I sold my $20,000 loaded 1800 gold wing because it was silly to have so much $ tied up in a bike that we both were no longer going to enjoy. I bought a nice little 93 Kawasaki 500 Vulcan and thought it would see me through a few years till the boy was old enough to be left with the grand parents for a few days. Well it lasted 1 summer then the call of the open road was to strong and I broke down and bought the old 1200 I have now. Only spent $3,000 on it and it's paid for itself already in mileage money from work trips. Anyway back to the Kaw. I want to put a tank of fuel through it at least twice a year to keep things in running order and today was it's day to run! Something about a lightweight, full of torque no fairing bike to take you back to your youth. The long stroke in-line twin feels very Harley-like as you accelerate out of a corner.... I'm ready for another work week on the wing!
