Support Wildlife ... Throw A Party!!!

You know ... the last time I dressed up for Halloween, I was still in grade school. Ever since then, I guess I've been so busy with the responsibilities of life that I've never bothered to see the fun of dressing up in costume (now as an adult) and just having fun and going to a Halloween party or nite club.

I still don't know that I'll do it this year, but I'm wondering if any other people on this site actually go through with it ... year after year. I mean, I think that adult costumes are much more elaborate and expensive than the ones you used to get as a child. Is it worth going out and paying lots of money for something you only wear once a year? If you've been to these kinds of parties before (where they almost ALWAYS have a best costume award), which are the kind of costumes that are always winning?

I think its a trip that people's professions are being used a lot more as costumes these days. I'm just flabbergasted that someone would dress their child up as a Nurse, Doctor, Firefighter, Police Officer, yikes - even a French Maid! Unless you're an adult, leave those type of costumes alone - let kids be kids. Once they grow up, they'll have to be those things permanently. I mean, where'd all the creativity and imagination for kids go? Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman, ... Casper the friendly Ghost? I'm sure they still have those type of costumes around, but I tend to see them less and less. Even trick or treating isn't the same as it used to be. And whatever happened to egg throwing? That just disappear too?

Ahh, I'm going off on a tangent reminiscing about how it used to be in the good ole' days. I know that times change, people change, but you never expect it to be like this. Scary as it sounds, I'm now starting to realize the importance of the speech grandma and grandpa always used to tell us that started with "Back when I was your age, we used to ..."

You are absolutely 150% are too busy passing their own childhood away...they are caught up in this "cool" mode. Everyone is trying to be like everyone else or live up to their "friends" expectations...they are 7 or 8 - how much expectation can they have?

Parents step back and take a little more initiative and remember how quickly childhood goes by and pull back a little on their "rein". Our duty as parents to mold, teach and guide their way on the right their eyes to how quickly it goes and what they would miss.

No, no, no, no head throwing - WHAT A MESS!!! Unless your holding free carwash at your house.

It's amazing to see how the more creative parents dress their kids up for Halloween. None of that Batman-in-a-box with the cheap mask.

Let me drive. I like the view

I dress up every year...I'm a kid at heart! But it is normally for adult parties...This year I am doing the full body painting thing sooo hmmm I don't know if that is a costume??? But before that happens I have picked out the "cop" outfit to wear to a party the friday before....(the club, the hat, and the short shorts)

I say live alittle its fun!
