Who visits your blog?

I find this a fascinating exercise. If you look to the right of the blog you are in, you can see the last 10 visitors listed. The makeup of those visitors is quite interesting (OK, so I'm an anorak, don't rub it in).

On my blog, just at the moment, for example, the last 10 visitors are: 8 males, 1 couple and 1 female.

When I go to maverick1255, the makeup is always heavily weighted towards women. One time I was there, the last 10 visitors were all women. And if there's a lonely male there, it is usually magahee77. Honestly, he'll do anything to get with the chicks, even haunt Mav's blog!!

So, what are the visitors to your blog like: do you attract males, females, couples, or an even mix?

Blogito ergo sum.

It varies from time to time depending on what is writen,. The most interesting part is clicking on the side bar and seeing where evervyone is from. Had some from all over the world , that was cool to us have a great day D & S

Yes, isn't the world a small place, when you fly by internet?

Interesting analysis of the different reasons your visitor types vary.

I think I have a pretty good mix! But if you click on the "view all" you can see who they are and where they come from. Now that really blows your mind.

CB_2 replies on 7/28/2006 3:59 pm:
Mmmm, got distracted for a moment there by the word "blow". Don't think we were quite on the same train of thought.

Mine seem to be a fairly even mix. I've been really surprised to see the names that show up on my list. I'm always shocked if they show up twice. LOL. Good question!!!

CB_2 replies on 7/28/2006 4:00 pm:
But why should you be shocked, moonlight? I'd be more shocked if people visited only the once - so rude not to be gripped by my writing efforts!

My audience of commenters is all female, now that NG is in transit. My visitors list shows about 20% male viewership. Exceptions apply

This reflects my watch list.

CB_2 replies on 7/28/2006 4:02 pm:
Ah well, NG is no longer in transit, so how are you going to hang on to all those commentating females? Keep blogging - I'm sure they'll stay true.

Mostly males. There are a select few couples and females where I always smile that they've been looking in on me.

CB_2 replies on 7/28/2006 4:04 pm:
Oh I think that will change as you get better known, babe. Before you know it, there will be women falling all over you and you won't know which way to turn.

I get about 2/3's men and 1/3 women...but the women are very loyal. It's a rare day that I don't get every single one of the women who visit me on my list. There's a few couples who are pretty regular too.

Yup...this juiciness is from me....

CB_2 replies on 7/28/2006 4:05 pm:
Tha's an interesting point about gender loyalty. I'll keep that one in mind.

Just done today's check on my recent 10 visitors and again it is 8 males, 1 couple and 1 female. Just different ones from the last time. Funny old world.

Maybe he's no longer in transit, but he hasn't restarted posting yet, unless we count the recently announced caretaker.... but I'm sure that the demographics don't change much without something significant causing those changes.....

    Quoting magahee77:
Hey Mav has a few male visitors!

He is from Florida so i have to visit him
Yea, it is an unwritten rule!! Follow Florida bloggers must check in once a day!!!

Damn, if you want to talk about female visiting a site - Magahee77 is usually jammed packed! He actually gets more views than I see on many sites. And he keeps his visitors entertained!!!!

Mine, thanks for the pimpin' CB2, is slowing down. i got a little beat up a while back and have just not found the same joy and fun in it. So, I am posting, but really back feeling my way. Kinda unstable right now.

Just don't know.....

CB_2 replies on 7/29/2006 4:35 am:
Babe, I know Mag is really a chick magnet - it's why I don't encourage him any more than absolutely necessary. But so are you, and your blog is always so much fun - I can't tell you how many times I have forwarded your posts to all my friends. Don't slow down, baby, or all we girls will be on a plane to Florida to whoop your ass.....

Everyone who visits my blog has impeccable taste.

It seems to be half males and half females but most of the comments are from females.

I kinda like that.

Interestingly, the farther away they live, the more likely they are to comment. When I get visits from "locals" the don't seem to comment at all.

CB_2 replies on 7/29/2006 1:37 pm:
I would surmise that the people who are more local to you simply came across your profile and blog and clicked through because they saw your "who's online now" pic on their login page. Whereas those from further away who visit your blog have probably found it in a different way and have chosen to come back to it.

I find it very frustrating when the "who's online now" information comes up nd it is always Kent people, as that's where I'm based. It makes it look like Kent is a hotbed of AdultFriendFinder members! I don't want to know about people local to me - I want to see a nice cross section of AdultFriendFinder on that screen, but I don't get it (sulkily throws dummy out of pram).

Like maverick I tend to have women commenting on my blog. There are some guys who drop by and I would like to see more. There is the temptation to flirt with a female audience and it may be that the dynamic is gender orientated.

I think that blogging is reciprocal. I will always make a point of visiting a blogger who visits me, because that way you can build up the discourse through which you interact.

Blogging is partly writing, partly reading and a lot of interactivity. That's what makes it such a powerful literary medium, so addictive, and such a lotta fun.

warm xx

Damn, I got all heartened for a moment, then, but then I read your comment properly: I suppose it was too much to hope that blogging could be all about inactivity (my natural state)

I find the amount of people who have "Viewed" Vs. the amount of people who have "Commented" interesting, sometimes hundreds of viewers but so few who feel they can comment - I thought the "Blog thing" was about communication but have now revised that view, at least currently.
"The Ether" is certainly interesting, in that one can talk to people all over the World.

CB_2 replies on 7/31/2006 3:31 pm:
Yes, there seems to be no constant ratio there. I think the more you visit and comment on other people's blogs, the more they visit and comment on yours.
