Cliticals

Funintheday2006 has outed The Cliticals as fakes because their picture actually comes from a porn site. And goodness me, hasn’t he gone off on one? Even to the extent of comparing their actions to Munchausen’s By Proxy as an attempt to gain attention.

Of course, it wasn’t him who looked into all this and did all the digging, you understand. Gosh, that would be really sad. It’s just that another blogger dug it all up and decided to pass on the information on to him. Maybe he has internationally recognised standing as an AdultFriendFinder policeman?

Anyway, the information was given to him for some reason, and he feels forced to act by telling all his dear blog readers.

Woa, hold up there a moment, baby!

Let’s look at this in more detail....

Firstly, that’s a serious charge. Munchausen’s By Proxy is a very serious psychological disorder, resulting in women (usually) harming their babies and then “rescuing” them in order to gain attention. It may have a silly name, but let’s not downgrade it to a joke. These people need help, not to be laughed at, especially not by someone who works in psychology.

And we are comparing this to a couple of gals (if that’s what they are) putting up a fake picture on AdultFriendFinder? Hardly comparable.

And, by extrapolation, he says that they have constructed fake personae etc, which makes them really sad. So, where’s your proof, Fun? As far as I can see, the only “evidence” is the fake pic ‒ and that itself is probably fake on the original site anyway.

I had to laugh, when the “true” identity of the real lesbians was revealed. Yes, babe, of course those are their names, of course they are lesbians, yes of course all those photos are real.

Are you insane? (Objection: I withdraw that question. Of course he is)

If The Cliticals are fake, why shouldn’t the information on the original site be equally fake? It almost certainly is. You think those are the girls’ real names? Yeah, right, and I charm snakes naked on the top of the Empire State Building for a living. They are probably two bored housewives needing to make a living to put their kids through school since their partners deserted them. It just pays more if guys all over the world think they get off on licking each other out.

So, the photo for The Cliticals’ site was lifted. It’s not that big a crime, and there are pics lifted all over the place ‒ does everyone personally photograph every picture they use on their blog? Hell, I admitted myself that I lifted my new pic, because I think it’s a lovely scene. It doesn’t mean I want anyone to think I look like a sunset.

Onto the charge about fake personae. Fun suggests that the blog might actually be written by a sad old man (ha ha, guys, and you all sent in cock pics ‒ I’ve got to say, the mere possibility of that being true has me wetting myself, and not in an aroused way), rather than by two bisexual women.

Possible. Or it could be written by one woman. Or it could be written by two lesbians. Or by two straight women. Or ‒ get this ‒ by two bisexual women.

Who just happen not to look like The Cliticals’ picture.

Or maybe they do look a bit like that, but thought that picture was more flattering than one they could provide.

I have often read The Cliticals’ blog. It’s very funny, and it is often quite thought-provoking. And I will go on record and say, hand on heart, there is no way it is written by a man.

Whatever you think of women’s so-called intuition, a woman’s mind is a complicated place, and it is really, really hard for a man to write as a woman and fool not one but maybe hundreds of women. And to do so on a regular basis.

Hell, any man that clever, I’d want to meet him. Because he would be extraordinary.

So girls, come on, tell me if you have ever seen any hint of inauthenticity (ie written by a male) on The Cliticals’ blog? Because I sure as hell haven’t. It is definitely written by at least one woman, and quite possibly by two.

And whether the details of their personae are accurate or not doesn’t really matter. It is there to entertain, to amuse, to make us think. Does the blog do these things any less, just because the picture is fake? Of course it doesn’t.

So, the blog is written to get attention ‒ hot picture, nice little reminders that they might be having sex with each other or with occasional lucky blokes who come across their path, entertaining writing, thought-provoking ideas (hey, communist Smurfs! Inspired). And why shouldn’t it be? There are enough boring blogs on this site ‒ you read one and wonder why you wasted your time caring whether X chose a red tie or a blue tie this morning.

Let’s say for argument’s sake that The Cliticals are two fat and ugly women (don’t get me wrong ‒ I make no judgement on these terms; society does). Well, whatever they look like, they are fucking talented and their blog is well worth the read. And if it took a fake picture to draw people in to find that out, well that is an indictment of the readers, not the writers.

We live in an ‒ist society. Racist, ageist, lookist. Name your ‒ist: we are all guilty.

And if you’re a fat and ugly person, especially a woman, you’re invisible. You know it’s true.

These stereotypes are so pervasive, I am fighting the urge to tell you I’m not either of those things ‒ even I, who does not go in for peer pressure, can feel the pressure of societal norms on this. Well, hang it, I don’t care what you think I look like. Imagine all you like. Yes, I have warts on the end of my nose, and my intestines stick out of my arse. Happy now?

Can you think of a better way to get your revenge on a society that totally ignores you than by tricking people into appreciating your true talents? I can’t. Rock on, girls.

And why shouldn’t the blog be about getting attention? Do any of us volunteer to write to an audience of zero? Well, let he who is without sin throw the first stone... here’s the first missile, Fun.

Oh, sorry, I’d better take that off you because you don’t qualify. You

- Set up polls and games ... let’s use FUN GOD HAS A BLOG GAME FOR YOU, PIMP IT as a recent example

- Relentlessly pimp your blog round your friends (I hope you pay Mav for the pimping)

- Fuck with people’s minds (oh, wait, everyone knew you were making it up when you pretended you and Sweetbabydee were getting married; and you even tried to get Mav to corroborate it on his blog VEGAS WEDDING FOR 2 BLOGGERS. HELP NEEDED )

- Tell everybody if they want to attack your blog friends (which at that time included The Cliticals) to come and do so on your blog (have you taken that post down? Funnily enough I can’t find it).

But don’t forget to be self-deprecating, and assure us you are above all of that. How could we hold such suspicious thoughts in our minds? You being so funny and lovely, and all.

I don’t want anyone to think I’m attacking Fun, though I’m sure he’ll tell everyone I am doing so. I love his blog, too, but I’m not one of those uncritical, adoring women who throw themselves at his feet just because he’s funny. I don’t want to be trampled on as he relentlessly pursues top spot on the List (of course you're not, babe. How could I think such a thing?).

I’m just questioning whether this current post is just another one to engender controversy and ‒ surprise ‒ draw more traffic to his blog.

What a shame he has flamed two women he has in the past called his friends as a way of doing so.

PS And read [post 469228], especially the e-mail from one Funintheday2006 to The Cliticals.

considering bi, firstly I must say in funintheday2006's defence, it was not him who likened the situation of thecliticals to the psychiatric disorder "Munchausen's by proxy", but if you read the comments correctly, it was me, so perhaps a wild call and a long shot, but it was me nonetheless, OK?

O.K., hon, blogland is just as imperfect as the real world, there is politicking and trafficking of friends and comments or in more vulgar parlance "comment whoring and pimping" and for want of a better word "patronage" with certain people/bloggers that gains you comments and more popularity on the list, but it is exactly what astute politicians do...I my medical school entrance test, we had two essays to write on general topics, interestingly, for one of these essays, I chose to write on the topic of "Politics is everywhere", but as with any good "leader" there is talent too..these people including the fungod himself wouldn't be there unless they were doing something "write" - yes pun intended, and yes, life is sadly, bloody competitive too. I have noticed that sometimes he appears to 'cherry pick' my ideas, but he does a damn site better with them that I ever could, so what does it matter? What you lose on the swings you gain on the merry-go-round I say... I will one day write a post on "How fuckable a woman are you on this site?", based on a thorough questionnaire, because I believe that being a woman these days is such a fucking big ask that I wonder how any of us manage to get out of bed in the mornings!

Justing stating my opinion...

I apologise to Fun wholeheatedly if the MBP reference did not come him him - must have misread his post. I still think it is an odd connection to make, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, as you so rightly say.

Maybe I have been a bit harsh on Fun, but he's big enough to handle criticism, so he tells me. No doubt the cohort of adoring groupies to support him ( ) can only help!

The point of my post, however, was more about The Cliticals' blog: does it really matter that their picture is not genuine? I think not.

Oh, and for the record, hon, I think you are being way too harsh on the fungod, I mean, each does our own thing on here, OK, as long as it is within the TOU of the site, some of us just get better results, but we all have our "hidden agendas" .... Look deep within your psyche and you will see, what I mean, we all have our "stories" for being on here as bloggers, right? Then again, you may be one of the lucky ones who is psychologically pretty self-actualised or whatever psychobabble you want to use. I agree with fun that you may have responded negatively, as I have done this myself, and he correct in pointing out that he is just trying to be critical. As an "observer" I am trying to see all sides of the story, too. I think it is time for a bit of "Edward DeBono" and different coloured hats, methinks.

CB_2 replies on 8/13/2006 11:23 am:
God, if I knew what "psychologically self-actualised" meant, I'd think up a witty reply ... help me out, Fun?

Okay, so the lifted pics violate TOS. AdultFriendFinder is a little inconsistent with its enforcement there as we all know. I'm with you on this one - I like their blog whether their pics are fake or not! It's not like they lifted porn pics to create a profile/blog that tries to get you to a paying porn site. Their blog is interesting in spite of their picures and I was led to it by my appreciation for the style of their comments in the blogs of others, not their pictures.

Plus, just to be fair, shouldn't we all consider the (albeit far-fetched) possibility that the pics really ARE theirs and they just happen to work together as well as live together? After all, one IS supposedly a model...

"Attitude is everything. Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, It's about learning to dance in the rain."

CB_2 replies on 8/13/2006 11:26 am:
Agreed! Personally, I think AdultFriendFinder gives only lip service to pic copyright - they must know that the more pics that are allowed (which they've just upped to 20 on profiles), the more this is going to get infringed.

I find The Cliticals blog to be amusing most of the time, but I have to admit that I haven't believed the personalities they've been projecting for a while....we've got the ditzy model, and her genius over-achieving-student girl friend....can you distinguish between their writing styles if they don't indicate which of them is doing the writing--other than Sandy will always make some kind of blonde comment (even though she isn't blonde, she plays a great dumb blonde), while Dee is the serious, political minded genius.... but that's all superficial and intentional....can you tell them apart because one uses different words than the other, or is somehow distinguishable.

I'm convinced that they are more closely linked to their "patron" than previously believed.. there's an awful lot of cross traffic between the two blogs....(when I mentioned earlier that I found them amusing "most of the time", the exceptions are these cross traffic bits of business.....

CB_2 replies on 8/13/2006 11:30 am:
I don't disagree with you at all, Smosmof - I don't they are the bi-pairing they project, and I'm not sure whether there is one woman or two. All I would say is that the writing definitely comes from a woman.

Imagine the pressure, though, if you're a couple of work-mates just creating this blog for a laugh, and suddenly - like Topsy - it grows, and you have to keep the pretence up day after day? Of course cracks will show after a while, but if we can accept that some aspects might not be genuine, and allow the blog to mutate a bit, we'll still be able to enjoy the writing.

Or, alternatively, we could just shoot them down in flames because a few guys got upset that they jerked off to a fake pic....

I don't know what to say really. I know when similar things like this have happened in the past, here on this site, with fake pictures, profiles etc, it has hurt quite a few people who have gotten close to the 'fake' people. I don't know much about this particular situation, we will just have to wait and see how it all spins out....

CB_2 replies on 8/13/2006 11:33 am:
I know Tabs. I don't want a blogwar, and my posts always stay clear of referencing other people or being serious, normally. People to grow attached to their favourite blogger and become very upset when anyone criticises them (sigh - wish someone would get upset if I get criticised, but I doubt I'm that well loved )

And all aftrnoon, I've been thinking "oh no, new people are going to click into my blog and think that I like to flame people and make serious points, and then abandon me for ever".

But that's the risk you take when you open up a serious debate that involves people, fake people or not.

I'm definitely going to have to post some erotic fiction to redress the balance, pretty damn quick!

The Cliticals thing doesn't bother me much...fake pics or not. They seem harmless enough and the few posts of theirs I did read were very entertaining. With talent like they have I question the need for the fake pics though...they would get plenty of traffic and attention (if that's the goal) by sheer entertainment value...

Other goings on at the moment do bother me however because if the accusations are true...more real harm could be done to real people.

I find it amazing this blog world that I stumbled across and how serious people take it. My general thinking is if I think a blog is fake and I don't find some value in reading it, I don't need to go back to it. It certainly doesn't keep me up at night. And this pre-occupation people have about making it to the list. I suppose much of it is human nature.....sadly.

CB_2 replies on 8/14/2006 9:17 am:
Yes, Lustcurious, it's a very strange world. It's like people who complain that there is nothing on the 400+ channels on their TV... well here's a novel idea: turn it off!

None of this makes any sense to me. This whole site is one big fantasy-smoke-and-mirrors-dog-and-pony-show. Half the guys with 12" monster dick pics probably have 4" little cobbler tools.

I have been reading with great interest as to what has transpired of the past few days..and while I am the first one to admit I couldn't give a flying fuck if it was their pic or not...I am shitty at the fact that on many occasions they have referred to the pics, we know there was more than one, as to what they were doing, where they were playing and generally invited each and every reader into their lives as the two girls in the pic....pic or no pic they are still liars.

I understand and appreciate that everyperson's blog is their own...but at the same time if you choose to make it available and choose again to interact with it's readers and commenters I do believe they deserve an apology...and not the smug response I have read so far.

Thanks for letting me stop by

True enough Balibabe. Do you think Funintheday2006 should also apologise for leading readers up the garden path about him supposedly marrying Sweetbabydee? I don't recall any apology about that either. It's all done in the name of fun, and people's feelings and own emotional involvements with the blog writer don't seem to matter.

It is for this reason that I often come down hard on Fun (he tells me consistently negative about his posts; I'm touched he recalls my occasional posts so well!). Readers are people as well, and blogs are intereactive. We all have a responsibility here, including The Cliticals.

I enjoyed the writing on "The Cliticals" blog.

I am very offended that the creator of the blog used fake pictures and possibly fake life stories to bring "Sandy" and "Dee" to life. I get enough lies from the Bush administration and the news media; I come here to possibly connect with some people on a personal level.

In short, I appreciate that Funintheday and his associates brought this and several other frauds out into the open. I have removed the fraudulent blogs from my watched list.

When I read fiction I prefer to know it's fiction. I don't enjoy finding out I have been reading fiction disguised as fact or honesty.

So if you're wondering who cares that "The Cliticals" faked their photos, I care. I don't appreciate it. And I don't appreciate being belittled for that, either ("And if it took a fake picture to draw people in to find that out, well that is an indictment of the readers, not the writers.")

You say: "[D]does it really matter that their picture is not genuine? I think not."

I think so.

CB_2 replies on 8/15/2006 2:21 am:
Choozmi, honey, I am sorry that this incident has upset you. But the blogs are as fake as porn and you either accept it or steer clear, I'm afraid. Funintheday2006 himself actually told me straight up by e-mail when I was first a visitor here that it was all fake.

It's only now that he seems to be getting upset by it. My question is: why?

I wasn't belittling you or any other reader. I was making a valid point that in this day and age the media (of all forms) misrepresents things in order to get people's attention. And in the case of the Cliticals' blog, what got your attention and that of many others in the first place was the picture.

Why do you think magazines have pictures of naked and near-naked celebrities? It's because it is what the buying public want.

Let me put it this way: I do not lie on this blog. Everything I write is true and honest, but you have only my word for this. If it is not true it is labelled fiction.

But when I write my fiction, I deliberately press people's buttons. You think I don't know how to get the guys' (and girls') attention? Oh yes, I do. I make no apology for it because it is something we all enjoy. It's an adult site, and we are adults. I'm meeting the market demand (and enjoying myself along the way). Very much like what Fun and The Cliticals do in their different ways.

I have not posted or commented on this whole thing anywhere, but I would like to thank you for presenting a rational reaction to it. I think that of all the people here, I have had as much "personal" interaction with TheCliticals as anyone. I don't feel harmed or betrayed. Did I ever think that they were "real"? I think that the emotions and thoughts they wrote in many of their posts and comments were real. Do I have anything better to go on for any of the bloggers here?

I think the outrage is way over done. And I have put you on my watch list because it's nice to read someone who has a brain and balance in her emotions.

I really appreciate your comment Kelli. Although I was a bit ranty when I posted on this, I did try to avoid the whole emotional over-the-top thing. I just find it so sad that people get like this in blogville.

I was actually about to put up another post stating that now the Cliticals' post has closed, I was going to hide this post and associated comments. I don't want it to carry on being an open issue, and it kind of sticks out on my blog amongst all the other nonsense stuff.

But I can't close it down now, not now that I have your words in print that I have a brain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can I?

PS Am disappointed no photo of you on the left, though. Where's the lovely one of you looking out of the window in the shortest skirt they sell (to 12 year old girls)? I just can't get over how wrapped up in all of this everyone is getting. If someone didn't know the cliticals were fake, they shouldn't be on the internet. They would be prime targets for all the scammers that spam your e-mail for money from nigeria.

I haven't been on the blogs very long, only a few months, but I knew the very first minute I layed eyes on that blog that the pics were fake. The pics gave them away as well as their names. Sandy and Dee? Sandra Dee (famous person if you dont know)

This is all so freakin' ridiculous!

It's just BLOGS people, just BLOGS!

Blogs = absolutely NOTHING in the grand scheme of things, NOTHING
Anyways, I'm beginning to think that ALL of you are in kahoots just trying to raise your standing on "The List".

more drama = more comments, so everyone is getting in on the act.
