and the plot thickens...

Ok... so I'm serious now. I'm going to write the book. But here's the thing... I have NO clue what to write.

I've been told that to be successful writing (success being measured in a writers ability to actually write something people want to read), one should write about what the author knows... and since I don't know shit I need some help from ya's.

Gimme something to get this all rolling. A basic theme, a story line... hell, a character or two whould help. So lets make a game of it yeah?

For every positive - and usable - suggestion, you get a ... umm... something. Much like the book, I have no idea what the prize would be either... So with the suggestion (for the book) include a suggestion (for the prize).

Man I'm such a bone head leaving myself open like that...

pull together pieces at a time... things you know about;

setting? a strip club of course

style? murder? mystery? something like that..a lil side bit of a love story maybe...

characters? of course..and all the various characters you know & have known from that world...a varied & interesting bunch

for a prize? well...i've won the prize already of course

<-- Scribbling furiously...

Strip club... Yeah, I know those... So I suppose there'll be a stripper or two. Murder/mystery? Sounding more like a letter to (that apartment at the top of a highrise) forum...

"...I never would have thought it'd happen to me!!!"

Ok... Might just as well flesh out some charactors. There've been a few of them lol

Thanks sj!

We all have a story we want to tell inside. Start typing your thoughts and it will lead somewhere.

I did this about 11 years ago with a lost love and I began with how our relationship developed and I just kept adding things that were not real and things that I wish happened and before you know it, I had a Harlequin on my hands. Well, not really...I was never published, but you know what I mean

There are also writer's classes you can take. Check out a community college in your area.

Hey Purry, good to see you back and about! Thats some good advice there... I'll take it Just hoping it doesn't turn into a harlequin lol

I was kinda thinking I'd go that route anyway, and believe it or not, I'm already taking courses. Online but it's what I got.

Oh I don't know papy, there's a lot to be said for strip clubs. Keeps the sexual deviants occupied so all you wonderful ladies can concentrate on what really matters in this world
