The "Liberal" Press - Rant on Wayne. Rant on Garth

The First Amendment of the Constitution. and I quote:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I direct you to that part about the press. And so begins my rant...

In the writings of the founding fathers and the Federalist Papers you will find many examples of a belief that in order for a society to remain free, that it's citizenry be good and forthright, a free and unbiased press was a necessary public service.

One Chief Justice of the Supreme Court referred to the press as the "fourth estate" whose duty, he said, was to keep the three branches, or estates, of government accountable to the people.

Up until the last fifty or so years the press upheld this sacred duty and trust to the American people. However something has happened to the press, instead of reporting the news (who, what, when, where, and how) they now strive "to make a difference" and has willfully prostituted themselves to the liberal left.

And it's not just politics being pimped to American, nay... the WORLD, it's sex and sensationalism... it's 30 second home video loops on CNN of a few bad seed cops stomping the crap out of a guy - who most likely needed an ass whippin (for something)... The same loop that when combined with the "race card" played by our "friends" at the ACLU, ejaculated nearly continuously into the faces of Mr. and Mrs. Hometown America succeeded in touching a match to a nearly world-wide race riot.

And while I'm on about our poor, disenfranchised, downtrodden Mr. King... Did anyone actually catch the minute or so news clip that reported King to be under the influence and belligerent when he was first pulled over? No... probably not. It was conveniently jammed in between the little league series scores and regional weather as I recall. It wasn't nearly sensational enough to have been included in the hundreds a day replay of the beating.

And lets just scrape off some of the scat the liberal press slung at all of Law Enforcement in that one incident. Remember now, this next comes from working experience here, having been closely associated with State and Federal cops.

It amazes me that anyone gets arrested in America. The burden of proof, just to pull someone over for a traffic stop, is so astronomically difficult as to be nearly impossible. Ergo the cameras now mounted in the windows of cruisers across the nation. These cameras aren't there to monitor the miscreant being sited... it's to protect the officer. Why you ask?

Liberal Press. Sensationalized shock jock reporting. Biased opinion - in the NEWS.

King wasn't pulled over because he was black. He was pulled over because there was a preponderance of evidence to suggest he was driving drunk - which, as it happens, he was.

There is zero room for bias in the news. Report the facts and leave opinion to the Op/Ed section of the sunday newspaper and People magazine ffs!

Inhale...

So I leave you with this quote by Homer and my own "opinion" in amend:

To speak his thoughts
Is every Freeman's right
In peace and war
In counsel and in fight.
~Homer

But not at the expense of the truth.
~ByteChaser2

So... what say you head back to And now for something completely different... and suggest a topic. Come on, it'll be fun

There is zero room for bias in the news.

that would be great ... but it's not gonna happen i think. ...... no, i know.

and it isnt just the "opinion page" ...... it's the items put forward AND the items not put forward ... like as you mentioned. what king did in advance of the part they showed.

We follow the annual press political affiliation record ..... for some reason the left cnn gives it out each year ......we watched it go from 87% Dem voter in 96 to 90.7% for 2005, 3.1 Rep, balance independent ...... so what else can we expect ..... especially when the left averywhere believes and acts on "The End Justifies the Means"

Funny, today's news ... the ACLU (American Criminal Liberies Union) just got caught stating in no uncertain terms what it's employees and volunteers can say publicly .. .all justified by their so important objective to guarantee free speech, lol .... Duh!!!!

Shoot... I'll sleep when I'm dead lol

Seriously though, stuff like this just seems to tumble out all by itself. A couple internet searches, a sip or two of my favorite apartiff and it's on. It's really not that difficult - for me anyway... It's almost like a zen trance kinda thing.

Can I have a drag of whatever it is you are toking? Oooppsss you said apartiff...a slug of that please? Pass the bottle..... Having creative problems on this paper at the moment. Can't quite get "into" it...I think I need hanging out w/local club/bar friends to tie a little one on as it has been a while. And, you are right, sometimes a bit of etoh helps one's voice and creative juices to flow [removing the dam perhaps]. Or perhaps it is the last one to write for the semester, and this little girl has lost steam.. and just needs to be waylayed and "just have fun" for a bit.

Lemme just conjecture for a bit... see what monkey falls out of the tree here. This paper of yours, can I assume it's a topic you don't really "feel"? Can't quite get both arms around it?

I doubt it's lost will power here. In fact, I'd venture a guess to say your too focussed on it. Some of my very best work comes when I'm completely zoned. And only rarely with any chemical assistance.

See, with me, it's about getting to that center. It's about eliminating distraction and creating that tunnel. I just pick a topic, shout it down the tunnel and listen to what echo's back. Then I just let the fingers dance. I don't think about it... I don't sweat the spelling ot grammar... I just let it be.

SJ watches sometimes on cam and she says I go all contorted and it looks like I'm fighting for every word... I don't see it... recognize it - while it's happening but when it's done, there's usually a big grin.

And hey, some of the things I've started sprang from some gutless topic or other that I really didn't feel right with. But in that tunnel, it's not really me writing, it's the echo coming back to me.

Try it... It's not that hard.
