Pre/Post-exam happenings

So if you've been following the blog the last few days... You know that I had a certification exam last Saturday. Been studying for that 6 hour certification off and on for about a year, and in earnest for about a week.

The exam went well... I'm reasonably confident I passed and may well have garnered a decent score. Big Smiles!

But that's not really what's on my mind this morning. See here's the thing. The Battle-Axe has been on a rampage of late. A couple of you know the particulars, still more may have correctly inferred the root of her current ire, and the rest can only imagine. Suffice it to say, she's been up to her old tricks lately...

Anyway, this last Friday night I'd been burried in my manuals, notes and study materials, Blinded by an intense migraine and cringing at the thought that the Battle-Axe would fall on me at any minute. I mean, thoroughly stressed the "F" out.

And she was quiet. Considerate of my current need for silence and solitude to study. She made dinner and kept the kids quiet. Served it to them out on the back porch and mine in the office so I could eat and study...

Then Saturday morning... The alarm went off at 5 AM... She got up, made coffee and breakfast for me. Put all my notes and study material in my pack... Stayed off in the kitchen while I got myself together, just left me alone to get my head together.

A hug, peck on the cheek on the way out the door... She looked me right in the eye and gave me this: "Just concentrate on your test. Don't think about anything else. Good luck but you don't need it anyway."

Ok, so I'm thinking she's not the hounding, nagging, Wicked Witch of the West I'd made her out to be... Sometimes she can actually be a decent, loving woman, just like when we were first married.

So I get home around 3 in the afternoon. She's standing just inside the door and asks how I did. Fine I said. I'm fairly confident...

She says "That's great" and starts in... Back up to her old tricks like nothing changed.

I just don't get her sometimes...

And believe me, that's so uncharectoristic of her, even during the gravy days, that I wondered just what she was up to! Thinking she might just have upp-ed the insurance policy and clipped a brake line or something

I'll the exam results in a few weeks, but I expect a decent score. Thanks!
