How about a happy thought or two?

So as the UPS guy is leaving - Got my Wine of the Month Club delivery - up walks the City Code Enforcer... Appologeticly letting me know that my sheds, though one is just mere inches too close to the house and "ought to be moved over" are within code and can stay put. Oh and he even overlooked the patio cover out back not having a permit, saying he'll file one for me since it looked so good. Then asked if I'd consider helping him with his... Nice enough guy I suppose. I could schedule out a weekend or two to give him a hand.

And the wine. Not sure if you know this but the greater Temecula/Murrieta area sports some of the finest wineries in California, if not the entire US (in my humble opinion). This latest delivery is from Wilson Creek... 2002 Merlot and 2003 White Cabernet Sauvignon. Saaaahhhhhhwwweeeeeetttt!! They make a kick ass Almond Champagne too. Think I might just go on a tasting tour this weekend. Any takers? I'd hate to drink alone and look like the local alki

Which reminds me... Did you know that, for most alcholics, it can take a lifetime to recover?

I'm usually good to go by noon

Ahhhh common!!! I'm not an alcoholic! They go to meetings!

Ok, enough of the alki jokes...

I do have a couple questions for the fine citizenry of blogland though.

On a really good date/dinner with your mate, what's your apartif of choice?

And, on average, what's your own success/failure rate when you do partake of the grape?

I only ask because I'm not entirely convinced that drinking - even socially - on a date is all that good an idea. About half the time, drinking dates turn into dismal failures where most sucessful dates (ones in which neither of us spends the evening either trying to revive the other or hold the hair back while the other prays to the flushing god) are ones where a very minimal amount - if any - drinking occurs.

Oh, and I did get that lint out from between the toes! Cheers!
