Aloha au i

It's Friday and I'm still here in the lap of Aloha - which, I have been told, is not so much a greeting as it is a way of life.

Literally translated, aloha means; "The Breath of Life". So when you say aloha to someone it means "I recognize the (same) breath of life within you as I have within, and wish to present from, me".

And come to find out, I'm kama'aina. Literally, "Child land" or more appropriately, a person born on and of the land of Hawaii. Thankfully, I'm no longer a "barney" - a somewhat derogatory word for "ho you canna surf fo nuttin' bruddah"

Still canna surf fo nuttin' but at least I'm a local barney and worthy of at least a cursory bit of true aloha...

And for that special you, who can love so completely and without reservation or regret.

Aloha au iĆ¢ `oe - I love you
