My love affair...

I’m in a rather silly mood this morning, been poking fun at myself. One of things I have been laughing at myself about is my love affair. Yes, you read that correctly. I am having a love affair. It is time for me to spill the beans, and come clean. It is True Confessions time. You might want to get out a pad of paper and start taking notes as the information I am about to provide here could be used as blackmail later on. My love affair probably does not come as much of a shock to you, since love affairs have become a common occurrence. Not very many people know about my love affair but I wanted to tell ya all about it.

My love affair has been going on a long time. It started when I was teen and formed a friendship with two girl friends. One of those friends introduced me to my lover. My lover could be bought for 5 cents at the local 7-11. So, as we walked to school we would pass the 7-11 and I would go in and buy my lover. I did this every day. On some days it was the best thing that happened to me.

The first girl friend became my college roommate and encouraged me to carry on my love affair. It was difficult as the price for my lover had gone up to 10 cents, but I managed. Sometimes I was able to buy my lover two or three times a day. I learned over time to savor my lover. I never get in a hurry. I slowly, unwrap the foil wrapper, bending down and closing my eyes I sniffed deeply and appreciatively of my lovers unique aroma. I would break my lover into tiny pieces and slowly place one piece at a time into my mouth where I would let it melt on my tongue and slide down my throat. Not only did I savor my lovers taste and texture but I was also amazed at how talented my lover is. My lover could come in many shapes and sizes. That is when I learned that size does not really matter. Small, or fat, thick or thin, long or short, it was still my lover. Still my lover to relish whether it was dressed up with nuts, caramel, or rice krispees.

You’ve probably figured out by now that my lover is a food item. Yes, but not just any food item. My lover is chocolate! I am a true “Chocoholic” if there ever was one. Over time I have refined my taste in lovers. I now prefer the dark chocolate. And not just any old dark chocolate will do. Though I’ve had other dark chocolate lovers, I have always remained true to my lover, chocolate. For about two years now, my lover has been Ghirardelli. My sisters of course know about my lover and every year for Christmas and my birthday one of them goes on line and orders me a gift basket with Ghirardelli chocolates in it. I really look forward to getting that basket.

I am secretive with my lover. I hide it in a metal box with a lock that can only be opened with a key and I am the only one with that key. In an emergency situation I will share my chocolate. I have been known to get it out when a girl friend comes over to talk with me about a difficult divorce she is going through. Family too has sat at my table drinking coffee or tea and munching on my chocolate. I have a smaller metal box that I call my “Emergency Kit”. That is the box I get down when a friend or relative is in a crisis. I am amazed at how the simple act of sitting at my kitchen table drinking, coffee or tea while munching on dark chocolate seems to relax people. Someday, I'd love to have enough money saved up to have my body coated in chocolate at the spa. *sighs. That would feel and smell like heaven.

How do you feel about chocolate? Are you a Chocoholic too? Do you have a lover? Are you
having a love affair? You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to. I don’t want any deep dark secrets reviled here. That is, unless you want to tell me some. This is just I in a silly mood here.

Speaking of which, I am suddenly in the mood for my lover…

Ohhh that sounds divine. When we are 80 that will probably be all we can handle.

Rosie says that letting chocolate slowly melt on your tongue is almost as good as a climax..

CD, hey! thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog.

I haven't seen the Milky Way dark. Not sure we have it here. And yes, I like the miniatures for their dark candy bites. And chocolate is just yummier when you add caramel or nuts to it!

Oh me too,Wendy. I try to avoid getting bitten by a mosquito.
