The Valley of Fire

I just love camping.I like taking the kids to the Desert and sleeping under the stars.I have an old ford pickup with a camper shell and we like to take off and go camping.Nothing fancy, just a pack of hotdogs, some marsh mellows, and potato chips.
We don't have a lot of money, but camping is cheap and we're going to the desert this weekend!
It's camping weather and we're going. We haven't been yet this year, and it's about time. The kids are ready and so am I!

Doesn't matter really when a family doesn't have a lot of money. Some of the best times I had with my kids was when we didn't have a lot of money. We had each other.

Me and my two daughters would pile into our Volkswagen beetle and hit the highway. I took them with me..whenever possible. On the restaurant..when the budget allowed..on picnics..and just to get out of the house.

My grown daughters now tell me..that they had a happy childhood. That means a lot to me.

What's important that you take the time to spend with them. That you converse with them..and give them opportunity for self expression..and respect and appreciate people. It sounds like that's exactly what you do.

Camping in the desert sounds wonderful. I bet it's a beautiful place to be. Have fun!

BTW..thanks for visiting my blog and sharing your thoughts with me.

Some of the best times of my life were when we were camping as a family. I can never replace those memories. So enjoy because they get to big too quick. Then you are lucky to get them off of the telephone or internet just to find out anything about their day. I have gram crackers and chocolate. Me and my son are on our way to bonnie springs the hiking at red rock.
