Question Authority

Is the law for the lawless? I’ve never been good at following laws and rules and policies just for the sake of following them. We used to have laws in this country that said if you had breasts and a vagina, you were property of a man. We used to have laws that said if you had a certain amount of pigment in your skin, you were property of an owner. Or wiped out so we can “own” the land. Jim Crowe laws. Blue laws. Sodomy laws. Debtor’s prison. Lots of these are still on the books, amazing isn’t it?

Yeah, I know, if we don’t have order we slip into chaos. We have the right to arm bears. We all have to have a cabinet full of guns so we can “defend” ourselves against “them.” Those people over there, across the river or the imaginary line, hate us. And we hate them. So we’ll build bigger and better guns, and enlist the brilliant minds among us to figure out how to unleash Mother Nature. Then we’ll all wipe each other off the face of the earth. Cool.

Gotta go get a haircut and a real job and clean myself out so I can go pee in a bottle. After all, it is company policy. I just love rules.

Authority always win, no doubt about it.

Some laws are purely idiotic.

I am the real deal! "Come Get Me!!!"

Benefits don't do... fight authority. Sorry my inner rebel trying to escape. Either that or the evil twin is still out from the mass quanity of tequila consumed.

No, not for the lawless. Because we largely promote a government of self interest. We are far past the point of where liberty and law balance to prevent that chaos.
Yep, count me in with the attitude problem. And I am ever so sick of being protected from myself. Spend more time trying to bend or circumvent the rules than following them, lol.

Always fight it where you can, G. Many times I find I can live with the price of doing so...

Authority must always be questioned.

Otherwise those in authority start to believe they will never be held to account.

Yes my friend. It amazes me how blindly people follow...

Yeah dig, if we don't stay in the lines people take our stuff away, like you say. And like you say, the little things can be very precious when you don't have them. Ever read Viktor Frankle, "Man's Search for Meaning?" Short book, awesome read about this very subject. Nice to see ya dig.
