Thank God It's Friday....

Well, not really, because I am usually off on Wednesdays and Thursday...so Fridays bite the big one for me {and I work all weekend, every weekend}. Now, at the end of the last post I made I was asked if I believe in prayer and I had started a post {much like the last one} with the definition and background of "prayer"...and then, while I was trying to turn off my music player to talk to someone on voice...the damn thing deleted.

So, see...Y'ALL's prayers were answered...for a truly short post from me, for a change, because I'm damn well not redoing it even though a lot of it was cut/paste! So...nah! However, on one main thought...for those who think they do not/have not prayed...I didn't copy/paste "The Lord's Prayer"...but yet I bet you know it, anyway....

Prayer {or ritual} 'works' best when you are not doing it for anything in particular; in this way you are opening up a dialogue, a channel or synchronicity between you {your 'ego'} and the eternal life giving power {'libido'} that is within all of us. Therein lies the 'answer' of Truth, that which is sought without knowing or understanding. Messages from the 'gods' are usually incomprehensible, passed over, not noticed...at least not right away. Jung used his logical German thought process to describe something which refuses description when he talked of synchronicity.

"Flow with whatever is happening and let your mind be free. Stay centered by accepting whatever you are doing. This is the ultimate." -- Chuang Tzu

“To offer no resistance to life is to be in a state of grace, ease, and lightness. This state is then no longer dependent upon things being in a certain way, good or bad. It seems almost paradoxical, yet when your inner dependency on form is gone, the general conditions of your life, the outer forms, tend to improve greatly. Things, people, or conditions that you thought you needed for your happiness now come to you with no struggle or effort on your part, and you are free to enjoy and appreciate them - while they last. All those things, of course, will still pass away, cycles will come and go, but with dependency gone there is no fear of loss anymore. Life flows with ease.”
--Eckhart Tolle

“All will happen as you want it, provided you really want it.” -- Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

“The spirit is life. The mind is the builder. The physical realm is the result.” -- Edgar Cayce

Then again..."Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." -- Sigmund Freud {Which, of course, probably could also possibly be attributed to William Jefferson Clinton...but I don't believe in prayer or synchronicity when it comes to politics for the most part! }

Have a wonderful weekend...it's back to the 'salt mines' for me...but y'all never know...it's where I'm supposed to be....

It's nice to find someone here who makes me feel like I'm not the only longwinded person around.

We work similar schedules... I get off at 0800 on Wednesday morning, and then don't have to be back until 1600 on Friday... which doesn't stop them from calling me and offering other assignments....Then I get Monday off, and work midnight to 8 am and Tuesday and Wednesday...

prayer and synchronicity don't apply to politics....hmmmmm, I gotta ponder that for a while....

Oh, hun, I am so beyond 'long winded' I've got tornado force winds! I work from 4 or 5 in the evening until {depending on the day} 11 p.m. through 'shutdown' or 1 a.m. through 'shutdown'; off Wednesdays and Thursdays and sometimes Mondays. Nothing applies to politics except that they make strange bedfellows and they give comedians new material, hun....

_____I pray every day (even though my understanding of "God" has changed through the years. I choose to beleive that "God" has helped me stay sober for neneteen years. Some days that's all I've got.

I use the "see where you're quoted" option a lot. When you respond or quote somebody, that shows up, even when you delete the response once it's been posted. So it looked at first as though you'd commented back to me twice, and I went over it with a magnifying glass to see what edit you'd made to attain the final product.

That's a very useful option.... keeps me from having to go back and check for replies all the time... What it doesn't do is show me when people have replied to something I've said without using the "quote" feature.....

"and i know you have beliefs but not as outward with them as i"

I see no need to be outward with them...those who believe do so and those who do not do not. When I am asked, or believe there is a mistaken impression about what I do or do not believe, then I give my opinions. It's called having a quiet faith, because I do not wish to shove my beliefs down someone else's throat or anything.

"that's alright... i guess it's what works for each individual....."

THE POMPOUS HOLIER THAN THOU FUCKING HIS 'TEACHER' PREMARITAL SEX ASS!!!!

Some...most days, Sky...all I have is my 'base' while everything else is crumbling around me with gale force winds...call it what you will, it is my 'base'. I do not understand his need to sheep-like behavior to 'prove' or whatever his 'faith'.

One of the reasons I started using it, even though I hear it does something funky with the comment count for me or something. I always comment back, but beats making someone wade through...and in the case of deleted profile it may erase original but not the quoted part into another's. Works for me, basically.

You are closer than 'he' is...trust that.
The original post was to have covered the age old beliefs and such...but to me it is genetic as well, in that we carry these 'notions' in us, regardless...and if we do not 'find' it in our lives we 'create' it for ourself. I wish, at times, that I could block at least part of my message center out, tamp it down, something...for there are many voices with many ideas...and sometimes I merely wish to drown them out...at least for a rest, a little while in time versus eternity.
