Outline of a Segue...to Mother of All F'amblings....

I have changed my mind -- THIS will be the "mother of all blog f'amblings"....

Words, nebulous, just 'a b c'...or w o r d. 'Just' thoughts; voices in the wilderness...the stream of consciousness. My consciousness wishes to be unconscious; not necessarily too much to assimilate but too many 'voices' {some of them the multitude being my own various ones}. {And, no, not those kinds of 'voices'.}

Alternate paths, alternate times; how many alternate and/or parallel universes could there be, merely counting only the major 'forks', decisions, and events in ONE life, then every life? How do we miss what we never had, because of and in spite of {and 'what might have been'}. Not necessarily anguish, sadness or regret but...humanity {or 'curiosity'/the grass is greener mentality}.

This voice says 'a', then another speaks of 'b', while yet 2 {or 2 dozen more} speak of 'a' plus 'b', 'a' minus 'b', 'a' equaling 'c' if 'b' is _______. There are paths that still lead to a common 'rest stop', outcome, or major point, yet the journey is different {in part, sometimes in whole}. There are words that change everything; a single word spoken, implied, left unsaid, a look, a glance, a touch too soft, too hard, not done, left undone on purpose...and a path changes, strays, straightens, ripples outwards to the cosmos.

There are letters that make words that make phrases that crash, resound, echo, fade from view but not memory, fall on deaf ears, fade away to die un-mourned {supposedly}, reborn and rediscovered.

The universe began with a word. But which came first: the word or the thought behind the word? You can't create language without thought, and you can't conceive a thought without language, so which created the other, and thus created the universe? Our thoughts form the universe. They are always important. Ah, you seek meaning; then listen to the music, not the song.

There are problems, and then there are inconveniences; which one is this? All your base are belong to us. To those who are about to Rock...we salute you! 3rd rock from the sun. Rage; rage against the dying of the light! Funerals are for the living. Do or not do; there is no try. Prophecy is a guess that comes true; when it doesn't, it's a metaphor. We are star stuff; we are the universe made manifest trying to figure itself out. From the stars we came, from the stars we return; from now, till the end of time.

I believe that when we leave a place a part of it goes with us and part of us remains. Go anywhere in these halls, when it is quiet and just listen. After a while you will hear the echoes of all of our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone, our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit that the part of me that going will very much miss the part of you that is staying.

I realize that I always defined myself in terms of what I wasn't. I wasn't a good soldier like my father. I wasn't the job. I wasn't a good prospect for marriage or kids. Always what I wasn't, never what I was. And when you do that, you miss the moments. And the moments are all we've got. When I thought I was going to die, even after everything that's happened, I realized I didn't want to let go. I was willing to do it all over again, and this time I could appreciate the moments. I can't go back, but I can appreciate what I have right now. And I can define myself by what I am instead of what I'm not. {And what are you?} Alive. Everything else is negotiable.

To all those I have loved before. And then there were none. Ashes to ashes; dust to dust. Scattered upon the winds of change. Once upon a time. Love. Hate. Indifference. Please. Sorry. Whatever. Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow. Forever. Never. Ever. Until then. Sometime. When. Now. Later. Then. Why. Who. What. Where. Y'all. Us. Them. We. Family. Friend. Stranger. Lover. Sex. Lovemaking. Human. Inhuman. Animal. Emotion. Life. Death. Language. Energy. Ennui. ExAnimate. Dead. Gone. Ghost. Beyond. Memories. Connection. Hard. Soft. Yielding. Help. Support. Care. Sympathy. Empathy. Bridge. Belief. Trust. Passion. Safety. Wonder. Sanctity. Doubt. Submission. Strength. Static. Stasis. Wonder. Synchronicity. Fate. Path. Way. Detour. Sign. Mind. Thoughts. Wind. Stars. Rest. Sleep. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Oh. Wow. Aha. Ahhhh.

{BaronessK -- Something}

Something's going to happen.
I can feel it to the bone.
I don't know what it means,
but the wait's heavy as a stone.
It's that creepy crawly feeling
that something's lurking around;
maybe hanging from the ceiling
or inching towards me on the ground.
But it's not a bug or spider
that's causing tingles up my spine;
it's encompassing and wider
like Love or Death...and is it mine?
*******

Joe Diffie -- Third Rock From The Sun

She walks into Smokey's one hip at a time
like a broken field runner slippin' through the line
He likes the way she looks so he calls the little wife
says, "Don't wait up for me; I'll be workin' late tonight."
Wife hangs up the phone, bursts into tears,
calls her sister up and cries, "Get over here!"

Sister tells her boyfriend, "Be back in a while."
Boyfriend wants a beer; the store is just a mile.
He leaves the motor running; he'll only be a minute.
His car drives away with teenagers in it.
The driver tells his buddies, "Got one life to live."
They scream into the night "Let's get it over with!"

Cause and effect, chain of events;
all of the chaos makes perfect sense.
When you're spinning round, things come undone.
Welcome to Earth, 3rd rock from the Sun.

The kid guns the gas, the car starts to swerve;
heads for a semi truck, jumps the curb.
Truck hits a Big Boy in the Shoney's parking lot
and flies through the air; takes out the bank clock.
Clock strikes a light pole; transformer sparks.
Lines go down; town goes dark.

Waitress calls the cops; says she saw it all.
Swears a giant alien has landed at the mall.
Cops ring up the mayor, says "There's panic in the streets!"
"We hate to wake you up but we can't find the chief!"
Mayor says, "Use your head; if he ain't in his car
he's hiding from his wife down at Smokey's Bar!"

Cause and effect, chain of events;
all of the chaos makes perfect sense.
When you're spinning round, things come undone.
Welcome to Earth, 3rd rock from the Sun.

Cause and effect, chain of events;
all of the chaos makes perfect sense.
When you're spinning round, things come undone.
Welcome to Earth, 3rd rock from the Sun.

{Statler Brothers -- Flowers on the Wall}

I keep hearin' you're concerned about my happiness
But all that thought you're givin' me is conscience I guess
If I was walkin' in your shoes, I wouldn't worry none
While you 'n your friends are worried about me I'm havin' lots of fun

Countin' flowers on the wall
That don't bother me at all
Playin' solitaire till dawn
with a deck of fifty-one
Smokin' cigarettes and watchin' Captain Kangaroo
Now don't tell me I've nothin' to do

Last night I dressed in tails, pretended I was on the town
As long as I can dream it's hard to slow this swinger down
So please don't give a thought to me, I'm really doin' fine
You can always find me here, I'm havin' quite a time

Countin' flowers on the wall
That don't bother me at all
Playin' solitaire till dawn
with a deck of fifty-one
Smokin' cigarettes and watchin' Captain Kangaroo
Now don't tell me I've nothin' to do

It's good to see you, I must go, I know I look a fright
Anyway my eyes are not accustomed to this light
And my shoes are not accustomed to this hard concrete
So I must go back to my room and make my day complete

Countin' flowers on the wall
That don't bother me at all
Playin' solitaire till dawn
with a deck of fifty-one
Smokin' cigarettes and watchin' Captain Kangaroo
Now don't tell me I've nothin' to do

Don't tell me I've nothin' to do

{The Police -- Synchronicity}

With one breath, with one flow
You will know
Synchronicity

A sleep trance, a dream dance,
A shared romance,
Synchronicity

A connecting principle,
Linked to the invisible
Almost imperceptible
Something inexpressible.
Science insusceptible
Logic so inflexible
Causally connectible
Yet nothing is invincible.

If we share this nightmare
Then we can dream
Spiritus mundi.

If you act, as you think,
The missing link,
Synchronicity.

We know you, they know me
Extrasensory
Synchronicity.

A star fall, a phone call,
It joins all,
Synchronicity.

It's so deep, it's so wide
Your inside
Synchronicity.

Effect without a cause
Sub-atomic laws, scientific pause
Synchronicity....

{Little Texas -- What Might Have Been}

Sure I think about you now and then
But its been a long, long time.
I've got a good life now; I've moved on,
So when you cross my mind....
Chorus:
(i, so, and) try not to think about
What might have been
cause that was then
And we've taken different roads.
We can't go back again, there's no use giving in
And there's no way to know
What might have been.
We could sit and talk about this all night long,
And wonder why we didn't last.
Yes, they might be the best days we will ever know
But we'll have to leave them in the past.
{Chorus}
That same old look in your eyes.
Its a beautiful night.
I'm so tempted to stay
But too much time has gone by.
We should just say goodbye
And turn and walk away.
{Chorus}
No, we'll never know
What might have been....

{Tracy Lawrence -- Is That A Tear}

The last thing I expected was to get her call tonight
'Cause the last thing that I'd heard from her
Was she'd found Mr. Right
But when I came home this evenin'
There it was on my machine
Now I'm just wondering what the hell it means
She said she's sorry that she missed me
and she's been doin' just fine
I've run it back and heard her say
Those words a hundred times
But something makes me wonder
Is she happy with her choice
or is that a tear I hear in her voice

The first time that I listened
I thought Boy she's got some nerve
But the second time I heard it
I heard more than just her words
Am I just wishful thinkin'
or did her voice really crack
I'll never know if I don't call her back
She said she's sorry that she missed me
and she's been doin' just fine
I've run it back and heard her say
Those words a hundred times
But something makes me wonder
Is she happy with her choice
or is that a tear I hear in her voice

Oh is that a tear
Lord is that a tear I hear in her voice

{Tracy Lawrence -- Paint me a Birmingham}

He was sitting’ there, his brush in hand
Painting’ waves as they danced, upon the sand
With every stroke, he brought to life
The deep blue of the ocean, against the mornin’ sky
I asked him if he only painted ocean scenes
He said for twenty dollars, I’ll paint you anything

Could you Paint Me A Birmingham
Make it look just the way I planned
A little house on the edge of town
Porch goin’ all the way around
Put her there in the front yard swing
Cotton dress make it, early spring
For a while she’ll be mine again
If you can Paint Me A Birmingham

He looked at me, with knowing eyes
Then took a canvas from a bag there by his side
Picked up a brush, and said to me
Son just where in this picture would you like to be
And I said if there’s any way you can
Could you paint me back into her arms again?

Could you Paint Me A Birmingham
Make it look just the way I planned
A little house on the edge of town
Porch going’ all the way around
Put her there in the front yard swing
Cotton dress make it, early spring
For a while she’ll be, mine again
If you can Paint Me A Birmingham

Paint Me A Birmingham
Make it look just the way I planned
A little house on the edge of town
Porch going’ all the way around
Put her there in the front yard swing
Cotton dress make it, early spring
For a while she’ll be, mine again
If you can Paint Me A Birmingham

Oh paint me a Birmingham

{Tracy Lawrence -- Meant to be}

Meant to be

A crowded room, a sudden glance
More than just coincidence
Meant to be.you and me
To see the look that's in your eyes
Makes the tears well up in mine
Destiny and now I can see

Chorus
That some things are just meant to be
Just like sunsets, moonlight,
Stars that shoot across the sky at night
All that I am faithfully
I give everything
Cuz some things are just meant to be

More than chance, or circumstance
I never though two hearts could dance so perfectly
Just like you and me
And even when we're old and gray
I'll love you more than I do today
Eternity, can't you see.

{Chorus TWICE}

That some things are just meant to be
Just like sunsets, moonlight,
Stars that shoot across the sky at night
All that I am faithfully
I give everything
Cuz some things are just meant to be

{Kenny Rogers -- All My Life}

Are you sure I haven’t loved you somewhere before?
In another time, another place, on some distant shore?
You know me so well, better than I know myself.
And you’ll love me tonight
Like you’ve loved me all my life...
all my life.
And with the touch of your hand
You took me farther than I’ve never been.
You’ll love me like, you’ve loved me all my life.
Love like we made could have taken a lifetime to find
But you found the way to my heart in a moment of time.
You know how to care just like you’ve always been there.
And you’ll love me tonight....

{Diamond Rio -- One More Day)

Last night I had a crazy dream
A wish was granted just for me
It could be for anything
I didn't ask for money
Or a mansion in Malibu
I simply wished, for one more day with you

One more day
One more time
One more sunset, maybe I'd be satisfied
But then again
I know what it would do
Leave me wishing still, for one more day with you

First thing I'd do, is pray for time to crawl
Then I'd unplug the telephone
And keep the TV off
I'd hold you every second
Say a million I love you's
That's what I'd do, with one more day with you
Leave me wishing still, for one more day
Leave me wishing still, for one more day

This is a first, even for me...this posting may take up the entire page on the blog's main page of listings all by itself! I did warn y'all, though...the "mother of all f'ambles"....

Well, sky...thing is, ya see...that's actually how my mind works! It was the mother of all seques, basically. As for some of the references, well, I'm well read {with eclectic tastes in literature} and I'm a 'geekess'...so there's no telling! Did you mean a certain part, parts, or the whole thing? See, we start with the beginning of creation...no, too far back! I was biogentically engineered in '64, then left by accident on this rocky planet, far from my native soil in another galaxy....

It could've been a kiss on the fanny too.
