Geeking some more...and FITD can still kiss my royal attitude!

First off, some smilies will not work on this site as they have the 'arrow' {more/less} symbol to them; they used to work, I think, but definitely will not now. Due to my hand problems and general ennui of late and my elder son being in town and dealing with/fixing his problems he asked my help on as well as a host of other things going on with me...I have not been posting as I usually do. In my free time, when online, I have been emailing and talking {plus regular typing} on messenger. In other words...I haven't given a shite overly much about posting, except to go surfing for a few more emoticons to see if they will work on this site.

Again, GoddessOfTheDawn has a blogful of technical type 'stuff' in her postings, along with an intro having links straight to those particular postings. cougarprey4play had a posting such as GOTD's on colors, but instead of him listing hex codes he listed the actual color names under a post called [post 466191].

The main emoticons are listed to the left of the comment box in the post {clickable link that will pop up a box} and in chat areas as well in the same way. I want to find the 'odd' ones, though, and so I have been surfing and linking and copying and all to see what will or will not work on this site. Sometimes an emoticon can be changed a bit from a messenger, and I might play with those later but I'm not sure. For now, thanks to several people such as ohbaby and nikki and GOTD and all, the following is what I have 'found' so far.

is : Q
is ] : )
is ] ; )
is [ : )
is : [
is } : (
is C = : )
is : - #
is : - E
is O - )
is O )
is [ : ]
is % )
is 8 )
is 8 : )
is - : )
is = : )
is * : o )

Following now is those I wish to see if they work on this site:

is B : )
is : @
is : C
is @ =
is : : )
is : * )
is ~ : - (

I may, and probably will have to, edit this post a few times to weed back out those that don't work. Yes, I have a bit of extra time on my hands again!
{I went back through them, and out of all the ones I have gotten to as of yet there was 1 for each personality, so lucky number 7 because I didn't count being able to do the same emoticon/smilie/smiley in different key combinations; not great, but not bad -- as long as you don't use/overuse those that seem to be a 'trademark' of a particular blogger...which means be nice with the 'medusa' one, okay?}

You're really wearing out the smilies, Baroness.

I thought GOTD was bad, but you're trying to surpass her.

There's a limit.

Words are enough, most of the time.

How is GOTD 'bad'? She is merely trying to help those who wish to add a bit of something to what we are doing on the blogs. I could never surpass her, anyway. Words, for me, are quite 'enough' BUT in my case in particular {with my sense of humor or whatever} I find it quite necessary to use smilies...as you do with for example!

I can't see the nuances in a lot of 'em. They just smile at me most of the time. Must be a "standard" condition.

If I happen to use the quote feature and a smiley is present, then I can decifer it. Yep, most of em are sticking their tongues out at me.

I meant "bad" in the context of how detailed she is with the technical aspects of the site.

If you love smilies, it's a positively uplifting experience I'm sure.

Smilies have their time and place, but you don't want to play them out.

Try glasses, keithers? I am standard, too, and except for the 'premium' smilies and/or the image places just now available I can see all the rest including the nuances. Perhaps it's the speed of your computer or the load or even allowance of certain types of files? The quote is how I figured out a couple or so of the smilies myself. And which ones are sticking their tongues out? I'm sure that is just your imagination hun, honestly!

I am a bit of geekess, DIV! I don't know that I love smilies, maybe luv them and then only every now and then. I did say something to people in general about over using them, but the main point is having a choice {a good one} when one is needed. Then again, maybe some have more need of them to express themself. Okay, me...I almost overuse and ...almost...or probably?
