Milestones

This month I have two milestones, in fact one was approached today.

I started working in DTEF in late August of 2005, but officially my start date was September 13th, now I wasn't on probation which everyone goes through with the county, but I was on work probation for 6 months, normal probation with the county is a year.

Today I was off work probation and I just couldn't believe 6 months have gone by so fast. I reflected on those days and how happy I was transferring to DTEF and how I was accepted by everyone and the building, how positive this place is and how wonderful everyone is from where I came from, to this day I don't know how my former co-workers could work in such a unhappy place where the tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

The next milestone I will have is the 31st of March, which will be one year on hormones for me. It's been a very long road for me, but I am here to say that it was worth it and I am so very happy in my new life and I have many friends and people to thank for being by my side through this struggle of mine.

In April of this year on the 15th I will be vested as county employees say, I will have 5 years in the county and if I decide to leave, I will get a very small check for the rest of my life, my plan is to retire with the county.

Life is wonderful and I love getting up in the mornings and going to work.

May you all have a great and wonderful day.

Congratulations on reaching these milestones. I confess I have little or no understanding of your situation...being born and raised as a boy/man but feeling inside as a woman. (did i get that right?)

Anyway, i do understand the struggle for peace and happiness and i wish you continued success on your journey.

Thank you very much for your comment and yes you got it right. I was born as a man, yes I am a woman trapped in a mans body.
