Forgiveness is a hard thing to give but...

I forgive all that has been done
I forgive all that has been said

And will continue to forgive

For me tho not for them.

Daniel it's for me not them...if I carry the unforgiveness around I will be filled with anger all the time and that is no way to live...

Yep, it takes from you, to hold hate, or a grude in your heart.

It's real hard when a lot of self-righteous hypocrites around here that like bash you. Don't read my blogs or youmight be offended. there's a lot of people that I need to forgive and a lot that need to forgive me. But dammit, I'm only human and if you try to rise above it, there's always somebody there the run you down. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm really a screwed up individual with no hope of being a true foregiving human. I'm not pretty and polished like a lot of others. I don't speak well, I don't dress well, and somehow someone has got to say something that rubs my last nerve and it's done. Why do I even carryon with you in this blog.

Interesting how things can change in one night. I'm not sure how long it will last. I went to meditation last night and I found center. I'm not sure what it has to do with forgiveness, but for now I am centered. I have a new blog at A big Difference! . It is a little more uplifting than the others. I thought of your blog and what I said before. Now something is resonating with me now and I’m not sure what it is. I noticed that you visited my blog. What it is, is that I appreciate you taking some time to look at me and to know something about me to take me into your mind for a moment and consider my thoughts as I have yours. Why am I here in my centeredness? I am here to become something. You know it is better to be a thing than it is to do a thing. It is better to be good, if there is such a thing, than it is to do good. I am not here to learn how to forgive, but to become forgiveness. So I imagine in my mind of centeredness and I pickup the “forgiveness” and place it over me and all around me and now I am forgiveness. Now there is a fear that I cannot live up to it. Fear is good though. So I face my fear which is me and I live with it always afraid of failure. But I’ll never know unless I apply myself to it. Not knowing is a very dark and cold place. It is not me

With all that said, I will now go and light a candle in your remembrance of you. And I will bow down to this flame and send you a wish that you may find center.

Forgiveness is essentially, for me anyway, about letting go. We may take a while at doing it, and we may only do it in thin slices... nonetheless a start has to be made somewhere, especially if it's a painful memory that has festered for ages. Otherwise it can crystallize into resentment.

"Forgiveness" as I understand it It doesn't imply that we approve of or condone the act in question. Just that we keep the 'lesson' and avoid tripping up on the experience...particularly any painful memories attached to the experience. Just my opinion.

You are a good poet in most of what I have read and hit the sentiment right where it needs to be, we cannot make others better other then by example. We cannot really forgive their actions - they must forgive themselves (assuming they even realize - some have issues there), we can only make ourselves better by clearing our own concerns.

kozmik forgiving yourself is good but that means admitting you've done something wrong and the people I am forgiving will never admit what they have done is wrong...well one will, he has apologized many times but she wont...

Aw, who cares why we forgive, as long as we do.
