Do Blondes Have More Fun?

I am often asked this question. According to every survey of American men, blondes are certainly popular. This is confirmed by Dr. Nancy Etcoff of Harvard Medical School who is the author of "Survival of the Prettiest: The Science of Beauty". According to her research, half of all American women color their hair and 60 percent of them opt for the lightest tresses.
Furthermore, a 2001 study by U.S. News and World Report found that only 16% of American women are born blonde, but scientific survey research demonstrates that over 80% of American men prefer them to brunettes or redheads.
I am from Scandinavia and natural blondes are very common in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark. In recent years we have come to realize just how desirable our hair color is to the international community. Scandinavian newspapers contain several advertisements for egg donors and they pay a large premium to women with blonde hair.
The title "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" is as true today as it was 75 years ago when Anita Loos wrote her best-selling 1925 novel. However, I am glad they do not ask me to comment on the intelligence of my fellow blondes!
