well, since i am "formatting retarded", I can barely change the font type and size!!

Andrew replies on 3/18/2006 9:11 am:
Fortunately, formatting is not a replacement for good

OH, I'm doomed. I tried to link a post and all I get is the title of the post. So, this [post 000000] works or not? I'm so losted

But it's still KEWL stuff to play with.

I just tried that "toolbar" for posts... I so sux!

Andrew replies on 3/18/2006 9:19 am:
It should work providing the post if visible to
others (next release will always show a link if
the owner can see it).

Maybe there is something here I'm missing (let's face it, like BudPlus says, there is no "Help" section here to tell us how to do anything...

I'm totally put off by the fact that that apparently votes on polls are counting as equal weight compared to unique comments (what a disincentive to write that is if all you want is attention) and the fact that the popular lists are being swamped with blogs that get most of their comments from posts...that is really annoying. If you have to keep it for crying out loud can't you separate the 2???

Now apparently we cannot even delete our own comments on our own blogs (let alone edit; forget about that) without deleting the comment to which we are responding also.

I am miffed. Totally disgusted. Sorry, but I am.

Andrew replies on 3/18/2006 9:22 am:
Nope... votes do NOT count like a response... only if
they post text below the poll (which as many has posted
is less frequent than a normal post). Eventually, we'll
move the top polls to the magazine section. I did make
a change that it's harder to stay on top of the polls
section after a few days.

You should be able to delete a post within 30 minutes
of creating it... I'll check it out again on Monday.

I'd really, really, really like for someone to explain to me how my post about my Moma could be denied cuss words, no naughtiness, no anything objectionable....AND just keep letting bonnuit2put up pics of children who've been bombed, people who've been bloodied, and many other abusive pics and text day after day. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WTF????? Perhaps I should have showed a pic of a dead mom?? Has he threatened you in some way? Is there a reason you continue to let him spew his hatred? Just curious...that's all. (rant now officially over)

I make mistakes, I am out of control & at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best. ~Marilyn

I'm a bit out of the loop on this - but will ask C/S
what's going on.

Ok I am starting to figure out how to use the new comment stuff...maybe I was a tad bit hasty and a little too frustrated...

'tho the anonymous poll responses "counting" are still a bit much...

Hi Andrew, I just sent you and idea and suggestion of something that may be of help with the WYSIWG tag editior in concerns to the font commands and the tagging of them.

Andrew replies on 3/18/2006 9:29 am:
Great - we have a bunch more buttons to add... but
don't want to freak out too many people yet.

Font Size
Default/ Toggle
Insert Group Insert a Place Insert a Member Insert a Blog Insert PhotoABC Preview Post First Help

This is the idea I have on fixing the tool box with the font commands that are clicked on since the font tags being displayed in the text box are both the opening and closing tags.

Example of open tag for Dark Red Font [ COLOR darkred ] and for closing would be [ /COLOR ] to go back to the default font or change it to another color or style; you must type between the tags for it to work properly.

The Font Color, Font Size, Bold, Italic, Underline Tags would be placed in format without the closing tags [ / ] when clicked on. When a User clicks on "Default/ Toggle Font" all closing tags would be inserted i.e. [ /color ][ /size ][ /b ][ /i ][ /u ] since these tags are only closing statements, it will not matter if a user inserted an opening tag or not. Example: This is what the user wants, and now the user wants to go back to default font or customize the font and will click on "Default/Toggle Font" and all closing statements will be inserted [ /color ][ /size ][ /b ][ /i ][ /u ] This now allows the user to type in the default fonts or customize them to the way they want (as you noticed I only used the color and bold tags; however, I used all closing tags at the end).
