I read her blogs today

You’re supposed to read that title while humming the tune to that old Beatles’ song: “I read the news today, oh boy. The English army had just…” done something, and I can’t remember the rest of the words, but that melody got stuck in my head!

Anyway… I recently (like in the past 24 hours or so) had quite an awakening… an astounding awakening, would be a good way to describe it. I could be wrong (and I hope I‘m not), but I think that one of my regular readers might be interested in me for more than just a source of blog entertainment. It seems that something I wrote caught her attention last week… maybe before then, but I can’t be entirely sure of that. She caught my attention around the beginning of November with one of her rather provocative posts (can‘t remember exactly which one it was--she‘s got a lot of them like that!), and I’ve been “watching” her blog ever since. (Her first reply to one of my comments was a couple of weeks ago when she mentioned her favorite soft drink as a reply to my favorite soft drink that I would use to “Quench her thirst.” And at that time, I really hadn’t thought much about that… I was just thrilled that she even “noticed” me!) It was one of her more recent comments that she posted a little while before my recent awakening that really stunned me. We’ve been commenting in each other’s blogs a lot since her first reply about Pepsi, but this comment was the first time she added the “L” word along with the string of “x’s”.

Well… getting back on the track I started here… I decided to spend some time getting to know her better, sort of. Like that promo paragraph says at the top of the main blog page: “They're a great way to find out more about other members…” I wasn’t aware that she had so many posts! About 123 (at least as of this particular moment in time) spanning about 13 pages, beginning in July. But, the numbers didn’t sway me… I like taking things slow… I’m in no hurry. And the journey is often much better when you’re not so damned anxious to get to the destination, right?

It took between four and five hours to read every single post, but it was time well spent. And, like I said, she’s got a lot of those frisky posts! But I didn’t see them as slutty, or “invitations” or come-ons… What I did see was an intelligent, articulate, charming, witty, sensitive, caring, (someone help me out here… I’m running out of adjectives!) extraordinary woman. And I saw something that I really don’t think a lot of her “hopeful” commentators see: here is a lonely woman who has had a lot of unpleasantness in her life; a sadder but wiser gal (how many of you remember that song from “The Music Man”… who only wants to be happy again. A woman who misses being truly loved… and one who is most deserving of true love.

Yup, she got my attention. And it looks like I did something to catch hers. I guess I’m just scared I might be reading more into all this than what is really there. So, that’s why I left a comment on her very first post--maybe she’ll see it soon, and then I’ll know for sure whether or not I’m setting myself up again for another achey-breaky.
