Deep Seas

Stevie Smith - Not Waving But Drowning

Nobody heard him, the dead man,
But still he lay moaning:
I was much further out than you thought
And not waving but drowning.

Poor chap, he always loved larking
And now he's dead
It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way,
They said.

Oh, no no no, it was too cold always
(Still the dead one lay moaning)
I was much too far out all my life
And not waving but drowning.

This is so totally not what I intended to write today. But I hope it is selfevident why I chose this.Perception and interpretation are so key to understanding.

On one hand it encapsulates what I feel needs to be said.If you go to a deeper level it exposes a layer of me.Be that historic and emotional

It is these deeper layers that reveal who we are...the peeling back of the layers is where patience is required...but always well worth the effort.

Thinks AS needs someone to hear/save him. I'm on my way... maybe I can help you find your way back.

As to the layers... gotta love the layers. It's the beginning of understanding and friendship!

Keep blogging hunz

That has always been a favourite of mine actually thanks for sharing

it is often used to symbolise the distress of those with depression and those who are suicidal.....

they feel no one hears them or understands....

Extra special kisses and huggs sent your way cutie, write away it really does help, and we have such great support in our circle of friends, Let those smiles out, they have a very precious way of reaching up into our eyes and lighting up.

Thank you, thank you all.I didnt expect that reaction.Dont panic I am not suicidal.Give me another few weels on FF and who I might have to take up some of those offers of saving anyway.

This poem speaks volumes. It is heartening to know people do listen.Too many drown simply because people dont have the time in this busy world where all too often the only person that matters is oneself.

To a person you have helped restore my faith. Here at least is one place which appears to go against the mould.

Now where did those baywatch babes go................
