Cerebal Workings

Ever had that annoying moment when you realise you have a song stuck in your head and you cant get rid of it?

Well next time it happens blame it on your auditory cortex and not Simon Cowell.Brain scans have revealed that familiar tunes are played, even when gaps of silence are inserted and so the part of the brain relating to hearing continues to "sing along".

The best way to get rid of that annoying song is therefore to listen to the track, and then ensure you play it all the way through in your mind.

Bit tough if you heard it on the radio and you dont know the lyrics.

lol JR!

What do you do if there are no lyrics? That happens to me all the time with classical music...like now, can't seem to get adagio for strings out of my head.

I give up and just let it roll. As a byproduct of this I have become insane.

It is all my ol pal expats fault. Two months ago he posted Jimmy Buffets Volcano Song and that was all it took. When will it all end?

I Don't Know, I Don't Know, I Don't Know Where I'm A Gonna Go....

(somebody help me)

I had another thought today…If you go to Disney world and ride “It’s a small world” then for the next two weeks the song is going over and over and over in your head. Do you have to go back on the ride to get it out of your head?

You could also just force yourself to think of another song... That works for me....

I then bug my collegues by implanting an annoying song in their brains!!!!

I always replace one song with another and then it generallly fades away. I hate Its a Small World after all, at Disneyland. My image of hell is being required to perpetually go on that ride for eternity. Still traumatized from that experience several decades later! Damn kids make you do terrible things. Chuck e. Cheese pizza is another child created abomination.

Excellent idea [blog JR63] I am sure that will dislodge the boogies, but not so sure about the music.

I have to say that this post was the reasoning and logic, behind why this happens. The advice is not quite so practical.Personally I tend to leave the tune there to compete with the numerous voices and fantasys that are a permanant fixture in my brain. As I apparantly dont have much up there, there seems to be plenty of room.lol

I think greeneyesatl05 has just added another one.But was that tune , voice, or fantasy.......

I totally agree can you teach me the volcano song too.

You bug your colleagues [blog EE407], but I thought you were such good friends.I think the crazy frog tune would work a treat , let me know how you get on in your Psy-ops.

As for you redmustang91 and greeneyesatl05 I have lived that hell, and had only just gotten over it.Thank you so much for reminding me.My boat actually broke down at Eurodisney. Those wee smiling folk arent so friendly close up, AND THAT SONG, aggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh that song.

Secretary please book another appointment with Dr Freud I am about to have a relapse.
