You Never Forget Your Childhood

The memories of my family outings are still a source of strength to me. I remember we'd all pile into the car - I forget what kind it was - and drive and drive. I'm not sure where we'd go, but I think there were some trees there. The smell of something was strong in the air as we played whatever sport we played. I remember a bigger, older guy we called "Dad." We'd eat some stuff, or not, and then I think we went home. I guess some things never leave you.

Wonder if a trip to Disneyland would have helped with your memory??

shame about the alzheimer's settling in, but nice post. best write more before you forget the whole thing.

actually, sometimes i think i remember very little about my childhood. i remember things like that we had a blue car, but i don't remember what kind it was, only that i can still see the shade of blue and the blue and grey striped seats on the upholstery. or where it was we went that time on holiday. i just know we all went together as a family and that we had a green tent and i can still hear the sounds of the tent zipper being opened in the morning, the cool air coming into the tent, the noises in the outdoor morning silence of my dad lighting the gas camp stove and the smell of him cooking bacon in the morning. i remember my brother always being older and wiser, how much he teased me and i how much adored him. it's still like that...some things don't ever really change.

Free - something to do with the way they brainwash you?

SS* - It's not silly at all, I'm afraid it's there forever, just like your memories.
