Day 175: Shaking a sinus cold...

The weather has been somewhat crazy here in Illinois lately. We've gone from warm weather to cool and rainy weather to warm again and now back to cool later this weekend, which has played havoc on my body. So much so that my sinuses are constantly draining into the back of my throat to the point where I'm coughing phlegm out of my lungs and my throat is so raw that it feels swollen and irritated. I almost want to rip out my toungue it's so bad, because I can hardly swallow. I hear that's a common problem with you ladies.

Sorry...I can barely keep a sense of humor with this sinus problem.

The worst is my voice. I can barely talk right now, and it's painful to even talk. The only thing that helps is plenty of liquids and juices, and the worst cure (although it does work wonders...) is a warm saltwater gargle. A 12 ounce glass of warm water with 2 tablespoons of salt stirred in, and I have to gargle with it for at least 60 seconds. Bleyuch! But trust me, after that, the pain is gone for a while. The reason is that the salt water is absorbed into the throat, and the salt does two things...replace the minerals missing in that area to balance out the infection, and it helps knock the pain out as the salt deadens the nerves.

I'm just hoping this goes away soon.

Well, I'd like to keep typing, but I'm so dead tired, I'm headed to bed for some rest. Thanks for reading folks, and I'll hopefully be back better soon.

Kiten - Thank you for stopping by, and yeah Illinois weather can be rough, but when it's nice...man is it nice! I just wish is would be a tad bit easier, but who can control the weather?

Maura/Lusty - Thank you hon! I'm still praying for your health as well. I'll ask you about that later.
