Checking my watch again I debated about calling your cell phone, it's not like you to be so late and I was starting to worry. We had planned this night for over a Weeks and I had been looking forward to a night out dancing and listening to the new band that everyone was talking about. I felt awkward sitting alone at the table with so many other couples laughing and enjoying themselves not to mention having to keep telling all the men that approached my table that they were not welcome to join me that I was waiting for someone, waiting for you. I check my watch again and worry really taking hold as you are now two hours late.

I see others poking their heads out into the downpour, craning for a view of whatever must lie ahead. The rain is subsiding. Steam rises from the idling cars and warm tar road. A heavy fog settles in...blurring all lights to a soft glow and muffling all sounds into an eerie silence. We are at a standstill and engines are turned off one by one. The air is heavy with expectancy as motorists begin a tentative walk to the median, where they gather, whispering questions among themselves. The night is deadly calm.

Deadly calm drips tension and silence, I watch walkers pass me; dishwater from heaven flips on top of us without care. Time is stopped but for a spinning tire on a crumpled blue Honda at the bottom of the bridge ahead. The image of it has my feet rooted to the slick pavement below my newly purchased and shined Cole Haan's. Then, unexpectedly, her ethereal face appears to me like a dream. My stomach dives.

The vision of her blazed in my mind. I knew she was sitting at home worried about me. Only home was attached to the bumper of my car because we were moving our trailer to a different park. We were traveling together after all. She had called several times but I just ignored the calls because I found it quite trite that she is a mere 10 feet away and she is the one who refused to sit in the car with me. As I looked at the wreckage of the overturned honda and thought of what was waiting for me at home I couldn't help but feel a touch of envy for the occupant of the crashed car.

The emergency vehicles were now approaching but it would still take hours for the road to clear. While I thought that the image of her face is what caused my stomach to dive I realized that it was the chili dogs that I had for lunch. I knew I shouldn't have asked for extra sauerkraut. Luckily by traveling with the trailer attached, I wouldn't have to go squat behind a bush.

As the candle started to burn brighter anna appeared "whats wrong." she asked I told her there had been an accident that a car had over turned a little farther up the highway and thatwas the reason for the delay, she asked is everyone ok? I just looked at her as I slid the door open to the bathroom and said what do you think?

She was always asking stupid questions like that, and dammit...though I loved her, it truly annoyed me. How did the woman deal in the real world when her head was constantly in the clouds? How could someone who had lived through the things she had still seem to have an aura of innocence surround her? My sweet, beautiful tragic Anna...

As I was in the bathroom of my little "home", Anna stepped outside the trailer and saw all the people congregated in the median with shocked looks on their face. She looked to her right, and saw the emergency lights down at the bridge, with a hustle of activity going on. She walked over to the median, and asked the people in a hushed, scared voice "What happened, and is everybody ok". Before anyone in the crowd could answer, they all heard the sound of a rescue helicopter drawing near.

For some reason, hearing those helicopters reminded me that “helicopter” is our safe word during play. Why is it in the face of death we find ourselves drawn towards sexual matters? Is it proof of our living? Our need to connect and rejoice? All I knew was that I was immediately aroused and wanted Anna in a primal way.

Anna hearing the helicopters overhead, was reminded of the last time she had said that word. "Said" she thought with a smirk on her face; knowing that it was more like a scream, her voice cracking with emotion as she called out her safe word. A shiver ran through her body as she remembered the feeling of the flogger's bite on her cheeks; the tightness of the nipple clamps a bit too tight and her wrists bound to the St. Andrew's Cross. As her juices began to run down her leg, Anna realized she couldn't stay out here long. She NEEDED to submit as quickly as possible and Master was only a few feet away in their trailer. She turned and quickly strode across the road, her long, slender legs shaking with desire.

...the phone rang. he let it ring as he surveyed his pet. he knew exactly what he would do for he always did. the phone rang and she looked apprehensive, not knowing quite what she was in for...dreading and exciting her at the same time! the phone rang and his eyes narrowed, a cruel smile formed on his lips. ...the phone kept ringing... time stood still in the pouring rain.

And then it happened, another awful tragedy to compound the bloody carnage of the car wreck up ahead in the road . The emergency helicopter, which had been hovering overhead only 100 feet off the ground, began to spin wildly, uncontrollably towards the mass of people assisting at the crash site. Screams of horror penetrated the pouring rain of the night, as onlookers scrambled to get out from underneath the falling mass of machinery. Anna would have to wait.

I was in shock. Ramon was my room-mate in college. We used to be really close until that fateful incident. He had left right after that. Last thing I knew he had joined the Air Force. "Small world", I thought as I saw Ramon recognize me from a distance, then walk towards me...

The deep breath did little to calm me,my pulse began to quicken. As I recalled that fateful night,I remembered that sinking feeling deep in my gut as I heard the sounds coming from just inside the door.I recalled the heartbreak, the sickness I felt as I swung the door open and saw them there, but most of all,I remembered the ear to ear grin on his face as he turned to look at me.As my mind strolled down memory lane,I could feel my hands balling into tight fists,I could feel my nails biting deep into my palms...
