I cleansed my soul in the front yard.

I spent the day at home today finishing some painting around the new staircase I built. It was a little cold outside this morning so I assumed the majority of the day would be spent inside. I was wrong.

The concoction of colors I mixed for these walls and staircase leaves a transparent, almost chameleon-like pigment. Your not going to believe this! The color I created appears a light rose color in sunlight, A mild tan hue under cloudy circumstances and a mild gray in the evenings. All of the moldings are a light cream color until dusk, then they have a pewter-like undertone. Trade secret-sorry! Anyway, As the painting progressed I suddenly noticed all of the windows around my house had fogged-up. It was a little creepy at first but then I realized that a warm front had arrived outside.

I strolled over to my front entry and cracked the door open. To my surprise, it was about twenty-five degrees warmer than just a few minutes earlier. A slight smirk crossed my lips as I swung the door open and stepped out. I looked around at my leaf-covered yard and the droplets trickling down From the trees and bushes. Serenity was surrounding me like a ghost from a pleasant past. I stepped out a little further and stood directly in the center of my yard. drip,drip..............drip,drop. The only sound to be heard.

I looked-up at the sky with my arms outstretched and let my eyes follow the flowing, billowing gray and white clouds as they criss-crossed and melted into one another. The trees swayed back and forth in the distance as the wind slowly increased. I laid my head back a little further and slightly relaxed my body. Rain began to fall all around me but not enough to change my lucidity, It was peaceful, welcoming and even warm. The tension slid from my body as the water soaked my clothes and face. Little water drops clung to my eyelashes, streams of liquid life ran down my cheeks and neck as I prayed for this moment to last forever.

The moment ended as it should but my entire being feels clean, my soul refreshed and my new neighbors, well, they probably think I'm insane.

see ya.

How beautifully you describe it.

I'm glad you could find a moment of peace for yourself.

I love the rain......
but it wasnt just the rain, it was the wonder of nature.
Life can be really good... Sometimes, lol.

Very nice... nothing like nature refreshing herself and letting us in one the moments and wonder of it. T
