I was reading the headlines this morning and came across this little tidbit that I thought was interesting, so I thought I'd share it with everyone.
The article discussed America's unhealthiest drinks...drinks that are providing us with nothing more than empty calories. It included items such as Glaceau Vitamin Water (130 calories and 33 grams of sugar) to Arizona Kiwi Strawberry Juice (360 calories and 96 grams of sugar).
The absolute worst drink in America today was astounding however. The winner is:
Baskin Robbins Large Heath Bar Shake (32 oz)
2,310 whomping calories 266 grams of sugar 109 grams of fat (64 g saturated)
As if just listening to those statistics is not enough, it is broken down further:
73: The number of ingredients that go into this milkshake. 66: The number of teaspoons of sugar this drink contains. 11: The number of Heath Bars you would have to eat to equal the number of calories in this milkshake. 8 - 12: The average number of minutes it takes to consume this drink (heck if you are going to be that decadent you'd think it would last longer). 240: The number of minutes you'd need to spend on a treadmill burning it off, running at a moderate pace.
I just found those statistics staggering!!! I don't know of any Baskin Robbins in our area and luckily I am not a fan of Heath bars so this is definitely not something I would order, but it just shows that we have to be so conscious of what we actually put in our mouths because food is filled with empty, worthless calories.
BTW, for the people out there who enjoy a frosty, summer pina colada now and again (which I admit I have indulged in more than once), you might think again...625 calories with 75 grams of sugar.
Well that's it from me for today. If you plan on getting one of those Heath Shakes, I definitely hope you truly enjoy it (and don't plan on eating anything else for the entire day hehehehe)

Who cares as long as it tastes good. I'm not going to not eat or drink something because it has to many grams or calaries. We are all going to die I want to do it knowing that enjoyed everything their was be it food or sex.

Nice nutritional option to have when I plan on exerting a lot of energy, like, if I ever decide to build a hydro electric dam all by myself.
RI_Goddess replies on 5/21/2008 5:25 pm: LMAO...that might just about burn off all those calories hehehe |

Hello, I was wondering if you could make a bling for a girl on this site. She blogged about wishing someone would create a bling for her. I did but being a std. member, I thought it was way too small.
Please see:Can Someone make me a bling
Thanking you in advance RI Goddess. I choose you because I love your beautiful blings, very artistic.
RI_Goddess replies on 5/28/2008 8:06 am: I have a couple of other requests I am working on but I added it to my list...I also put a post in her blog for her...thanks for the compliment on my bling...you are very kind AM |

I'd actually like to try the milkshake but with diabetes, I'd likely pass out. lol.....
Thank you lovely RI Goddess for the email you sent to me. Also for the rose. Unfortunately I can't read it because the site will not let me. I'm under a new account so I'm not allowed. I'm very happy you emailed me. Thank you.
Bob
RI_Goddess replies on 5/28/2008 11:02 am: Bob, Hmmmmm...they don't even allow you to read emails...well that isn't very nice of them It kind of reiterated what I said here and in sky's blog and also invited you to check out Bling Nation which is for bling makers and collectors alike...figured you might find the group of some interest and get to know some new people in the process....AM |

2,000+ calories - there's helluva lot. And I think the sugar content is even worst. Would only do that after a very strenous workout, both cardio and strength, to replenish lost nutrients in the muscles. But in anycase, I think an ordinary milkshake would do that nicely, even a full-fat milkshake. That health bar shake is just too much!

Sighs..that is my favorite candy bar. However, I will not be having one of those shakes after all this week. I will head to Dairy Queen instead. LOL.

Wow! That is an eye opener. There are so many calories and som much sugar in things we take for granted. No wonder why people are getting sicker, fatter, and meaner.
