I just read a most interesting article in the June/July issue of Details magazine about men who leave pregnant women before the baby is born.
One of the statistics cited in the article is that in 30% of the cases in which DNA is tested, the man being tested turns out not to be the genetic father.
The other issue raised was that if a man admits to paternity and has his name put on the birth certificate as the genetic father, he will be held responsible for child support even if it is later determined that he was not the genetic father.
This raises a question I have for this group: Have any of you men been wrongfully accused of paternity; or do any of you women know of such cases?
I would be interested to know if the statistic cited is indeed accurate.
