Here's the first installment of The Lesbian Chronicles... This is meant to be an introduction that I will refer back to in the next installments.
First a little background: While living in FLA, I made friends with a group of lesbians. (G-d I really don't like that term do you??) Anyway, we ALL became very good friends and I was particularly close with two of the girls, Spike and Trish the Dish.
We would all meet for after work cocktails, get drunk as hootie owls and on Fridays we'd end up dancing the night away at one of a gazzilion bars up and down the intercoastal. Yes, in my younger years I was quite the dancer.. LOL
There were all told about 6-7 girls, each had their very own story to tell, each was waaaay more into women than guys and each had a wild hair up their butt like you would NOT believe.
The situations these girls got into are legendary not to mention the shit they got ME involved in. These stories NEED to be told and chronicled somewhere.
I learned an incredible amount from these girls about life, about love, about friendship and even about guns..
The Girls: First and foremost there was Trish the Dish. She came by that name honestly because she WAS one hell of a 'dish'. Blond, thin, tall/almost statuesque, long legs an ass to die for and most importantly a brain. She was a very successful commercial loan officer for a bank and was in every sense of the word, the leader of the group.. I still keep in touch with her to this day and even my wife has met her on her infrequent trips up this way. (That WILL be one of the chronicles btw
Trish was my best friend, golfing buddy, partner in crime and generally just a major hoot to be around. I still am madly in love with her and will always be
Next up is Spike. Spike got her name because of her hair. She ALWAYS wore it in HUGE spikes. She was the goth-girl of the bunch not to mention a leftover from the punk/new-wave age. She was one mass of freckles, hated the water and in general could out drink, out party and out fuck any living human being on this planet and she was VERY proud of that fact. She was originally a typical Florida runaway. She was originally from New Jersey, came to FLA on vacation and ended up staying with no job, no home, no friends, nothing! Luckily she's a survivor of the highest order and she made FLA her home. She owns an employment agency now and does very very well for herself.
Then there was Amy. Amy was the quiet one of the bunch. She was very pretty, totally committed to women (see below) and was at times somewhat of a downer to be around. There is one particular story about her that I will relate later on that will bring tears to your eyes.
Rachel was the red-head of the group. She was a very very wild child so to speak and tended to get into more trouble than anyone else. She was also DEEPLY in love with Amy. The two of them lived together off and on and even Stevie Wonder could see that it was a relationship made in HELL...
I can NEVER forget Stacey. She was also very attractive and knew it. She was NEVER quite able to decide whether she was into girls or boys and she and her indecision's caused a LOT of grief in the group at times. All the other girls looked out for her mainly because they ALL wanted in her pants bad and at times it seemed like Stacey was screwing ANYTHING that moved in and around our part of FLA.
Karen and Jackie were an item even before the 'group' came together. They were also inseparable so you will often here me referring to them as almost one person at times because that's exactly how they acted..
There were others, including guys, who 'flitted' in and out of group at times and you'll read about them when it's warranted but aside from yours truly, that was the group.
How we all met: My bestest friend in FLA was a guy named 'Turk'. He worked at an executive recruiting company that I had used at one point to find a new job.. (That's a story unto itself dear readers)
Turk and I became good friends and drinking buddies right off the bat and as it turned out, Spike worked at the same company with him.
After work, I'd meet Turk at a bar that was located in the same building he worked in. It was a KILLER place, over looking the bay, art deco style, awesome jazz music, both life and recorded and well, proximity and location are everything right? LOL
BTW, this bar will play heavily in some of the up and coming Chronicles so pay attention.
Anyway, one day Turk met me at the bar with Spike. Spike and I hit it off right from the start. She was a fellow 'free spirit' and man could that girl party. Over time, she introduced me an Turk to Trish the Dish and some of her other friends and well, the whole group just kind of clicked and took off from there.
Of course it didn't hurt that I owned a house on the bay with a swimming pool, hot tub, nice dock area and a boat all of which became our ipso facto 'Club House' if you will.
On any given day or evening you could walk out into the pool area and find 1-7 girls lounging around, sometimes in swim suits, sometimes not.
That house, the hot tub/pool and my boat, along with the bar I mentioned above AND other places sprinkled throughout the Tampa Bay area will be the sets for virtually ALL of the up and coming Chronicles.
Ok, so you've made it this far and now you know MORE than you ever really wanted to. Great! I will refer back to this page at times for those who haven't kept up etc.
The first installment of The Lesbian Chronicles is being written as we speak so please, stay tuned...
