Most anyone who is sexually active has been exposed to the virus and like most viruses is part of you for the rest of your life. The vaccinations are preventive if given prior to your first sexual experience and is highly recommended for BOTH female and male patients. There are presently only 3 or 4 types of HPV that are credited with causing the most serious future consequences resulting in the development of cancers in both sexes. In women cervical cancer is the most common and in men throat cancer and anal cancer are more common. Please inform your physician concerning your history of activity, IT MIGHT SAVE YOUR LIFE!
