American translations are a total insult

This is a quote from another persons blog. The person is extremely narrow minded and has insulted my intelligence as well as me as an American, yet I keep trying to find a place to compromise with him. Why? Why don't I just let him spew forth from his young ignorant mouth? Other people on his blog are nicely trying to let him know he should tone down a bit. He responds to flattery regularly, but not so much to an opinion that is not like his own. Doesn't even acknowledge that people are allowed to have an opinion of their own.

I think I've found another personality flaw within myself... just what I needed. It seems feel a needed to right a wrong and at the very least to compromise... even when it appears to be none of my business and a complete waste of valuable time... a very strong need that will naw at me until I say something.

I want to throw respect his way because of his research and desire to educate... but I can't because he thinks himself above so many others. What do you say to someone like that?

You say nothing...

I, and many others, know of whom you speak.
In the beginning, there were MANY who tried
to reason, but to no avail. For all that he
has to offer, he remains the youth in Good
Will Hunting ... exposed to a plethora of
raw knowledge ... yet utterly without the
life experiences that give context to such
knowledge. He is a font of information, but
not of wisdom, and sadly he is oblivious to
the distinction.

As a former professor in biology, I can tell
you now his pontifications may stem from a
true desire to educate, but that desire is
masked by his open disdain for those who wish
to interject a different opinion. Such a
diversity of opinion can be a springboard to
a more thorough discussion, one that most
educators welcome as an opportunity for
clarification. He ignores this at his peril.

cheers

What makes a person so thick skulled? I know only one other person like that. He is the only person on this planet that I really don't like. He is this guy, but doesn't have youth to excuse him. What has to happen before he realizes? Will he ever understand? I have said that from his high perch he will fall and then maybe... but I also know the fall may have him stand up and say, "Look what you have done to me." I can't help feeling sorry for him.

I am amazed that you are so compassionate about this person. Most would just walk away & let him boil in his own turmoil, but you seem to want to right the wrongs & show the way to people who have blinded themselves with their own enlightenment.
I applaud your efforts, but I worry that you may end up getting stung for your efforts
