The Middle Stages of Man on AFF

(This entry is a sequel to The Early Stages of Man on AFF from April 8. This entry links directly to the entry above -- The Early Stages of Man on AFF Redux -- a repeat of that earlier post.)

Part I

Jurassic Era
"Not that There's Anything Wrong with That"
Just when you think you are about to meet hot women on the site, the famous Seinfeld line comes to mind. You start receiving mail from gay men and transsexuals. They have mistaken your eagerness for sex with an interest in changing your sexual lifestyle. Time again to practice restraint and kindness as the rejection notes go out. Time to reconsider where you posted those notices in the discussion boards.

Cretaceous Era
"Invasion of the Profile Snatchers"
You chat nicely with a woman using the in-house mail system and the discussion boards for two weeks. She seems just right. About the time you are set to exchange and other contact information, her profile disappears. She's disconnected and you are back to Square One. What happened? No amount of whining or wishing will bring her back.

Paleocene Era
"Revenge of the Cyprian"
Alright, this time you manage to get her phone number and she doesn't disconnect her profile. You are glad because there are five weeks of on-and-off e-mail invested. Then when you talk to her she quotes you rates and you discover, she's a . If you had wanted one of those you could've gone online and found a number in less than five minutes. So much for the time investment.

Eocene Era
"Teenage Brain Games"
The teenagers on the site find you and decide to play games with you. Is that really a hot woman you are on IM with or is it a group of fraternity guys pulling a prank? girls want to insult you online and in your blog. The 16-year-olds trolling the site give you pause.

(The remaining stages will be listed inside.)

(This entry NEVER appeared on the main blogboard due to an evening blogjam on July 14, but this author chose not to repost.)

Part II

Oligocene Era
"Network Meltdown"
You are on IM for only the second time and you have a woman who seems interested in you. Then your ISP has a problem and you are disconnected. When you can get back online 90 minutes later, she won't talk to you. She thinks you hung up on her. So much for modern technology.

Miocene Era
"Outside the Boundaries"
You feel progress after more than three months on the site. Finally, women are giving you phone numbers and contact information. You are chatting with them outside the walls. The site becomes a place to hunt, but not to communicate. Your goal seems closer daily. You start to think about what you believe is the next step: the first meeting.

Pliocene Era
"The Heat is On"
Now the tables are turning. Women are inviting you to their network instead of the other way around and local women start to put you in their hot list. Now, you know the possibility of cooking with some hot dish is getting closer.

Pleistocene Era
"Was the Cybersex Good for You?"
A woman seeks you out on the discussion boards. She is in pursuit mode. She wants to talk to you on IM. You chat. She wants cybersex. She masturbates. You type. Does she get off? She says she does. She gives you her number. You chat. She sends you erotic stories. She wants to act them out. A meeting looks promising soon.

Holocene Era
"How about some Good Ole Fashioned Phone Sex?"
Another woman responds to your e-mail invitations. You start chatting. She also seems very promising. You start talking on the phone. Daily. Within a week, she is in bed with her phone, her vibrator, and your voice. She's moaning now and you are as hard as a rock as you whisper erotic messages to her. You wish you could be with her, but you are stuck at work.

Part III

The Age of Homo habilis
"Seven Choices"
You've said your philosophy was don't assume anything is real and possible until you are in bed with a woman. So you keep looking, flirting, chatting. Pretty soon, you are talking to seven women on the phone, on IM, or on e-mail almost every day. Although getting one to a face-to-face meeting is your goal, you aren't pushing hard. You don't want to lose what you've got now. So all those weeks and months you were wishing for attention, well, now you have it. Too much of it.

The Age of Homo erectus
"Discussion Board Flame Out"
Remember those ads you put on the discussion boards? They are working too well. You are getting more women who want admittance to your circle of seven. You mail them. Luckily or unluckily, after one exchange of e-mail, they disappear. And also into thin air goes the woman who sent you the erotic stories, even though you had tentatively set up a meeting. You start to wonder what is behind this erratic behavior.

The Age of Homo ergaster
"The Tipping Point"
Two women are ready to have sex with you right now. They both want to skip the initial get-to-know you meeting and get between the sheets pronto. One wants unprotected sex in her home. The other wants sex before she even sends you a photo, and when the photo arrives, you have real second thoughts. Lots of choices here. Go for it despite the reservations? Drop them and move on? Or reconsider everything? At this point, only one of the six remaining women really interests you and she may not be available to meet for awhile. Time for some decisions.

(Obviously, each person's experience is different. Some of these stages overlap, and you may dance back and forth between them. This is what can happen to you in four months on this website, which seems typical for a married man looking to play. For a more serious look at these recent experiences, see the entry "Flakes" from July 13.)

Lord Rock, I knew that I've been a lucky fellow... just didn't realize how lucky. If I had gone through all that I'd have bailed outta here pronto - especially the hookers and such.

Great update and true to most of my experience. Although I haven't had the teenager thing ever happen to me. Or I've just been clueless. Well, I have HAD a teenager on this site but that is a different story entirely....

The discussion boards on this site are a godsend for those of us with literary bent. It finally pays (in the sense of getting laid) to be educated. It is the one place where intellect and creativity pays off. Big time. God I love being a silver tounged devil. LOL

As a newbie I've still to experience such scenarios. You have done the equivalent of giving a cambrian jellyfish a vision of the future. Would it have evolved differently? Probably not, so I'm taking note!

>>>Princess... interesting to see you exploring my backpages. Thanks for the smile (love those lips). Perhaps this gives you some inspiration for a post of your own on the stages. Thanks for reviving this thread.

>>>As I have since learned, blogging etiquette calls for some responses to the others now too, although they are long gone from this spot.

>>>I will say from what I can see that W&S has learned quite a bit and turned into a bit of a big blogger since he signed on here.

>>>Unfortunately, after this my blogging pal mi_mwpm ran into some unexpected difficulties. Although he has not signed off completely, life has changed for him here. For an update, see: Farewell to a Friend.

>>>As for Darth Murax... he continues on his merry way dominating the discussion boards (especially Married seeking lover(s)) and finding quite a bit of pleasure along the way. And so it goes.

Actually, some of the answers are next door in the entry Flakes. And the rest we will have to save for a little chat between us sometime, unless I finally post up the rest of the story.
