Man or woman?

The other day at work i was helping a customer and i referred that customer to my manager...I said "this lady here..." "Gentleman..." The man corrected me...i was mortified...This was a very feminine man and he even sounded like a woman...

I think that has happened to all of us. I used to deal blackjack for a local casino here, and one of the people sitting on my table weren't paying attention when it was their turn. So I pointed to their cards and said "Sir, hit or stay?". Turned out the 'Sir' was a 'Miss'. I apologized but the damage was done. I mean how can you properly apologize for a comment like that? It's like asking a pregnant woman when her baby is due and it turns out she isn't pregnant.
(1) Open mouth
(2) Raise foot
(3) Insert foot into mouth

Oh no I was out with a man one afternoon for lunch. He has shoulder length hair. The waiter was behind my date and asked him what could he get us ladies to drink. Oops!

Kisses,
Miranda

Playful, I have had this happen a couple of times, and boy (or is girl) does it give one pause. Trying to hide the double take, and what mislead you to "assume" the wrong gender. I don't think there is anyway to gloss over this!!

Remove foot from mouth and in the future, "one of our valued customers" ...., let the Mgr. deal with this hurdle. But I understand, the leap our mind makes with the familiarity of sexes. All you can do is sincerely apologize, just once, and hope for the best.

Actually one day I was sitting at a cafe writing my grandfathers Ulogy,

and an elderly gentleman came up behind me and said, you know it is good you have such freedom that young men can wear their hair long now it looks good,

I turned around and I could have sworn the poor guy almost keeled over on the spot when he realised I was a woman. lol a swimmers broad shoulders can be deceiving from behind when sitting......
