Am i a clutz or what...

I was out on the trails in behind my house...riding along a path that has become very familiar to me in the years since i have lived in the area...

I started down the hill...coasting but gaining speed...I went around the curve a little too fast and hit a loose patch of gravel that i generally manage to navigate my way around...

I skidded out of control and missed the footbridge that crossed the little creek and ended up in it instead...

It was a long walk home that day...two days and a new tire later...i was ready to hit the trails again...

My poor mountain bike...

OUCH!! I can relate. Fortunately I have been lucky enoungh not to have to walk home. Mountainbiking gives the phrase "hitting the trails" a whole new meaning. Sometimes it's like learning to ride all over again.

Been there done that...i wonder why people feel the need to insult others...I never have been able to understand that...remember that that was only one person and that there are many people in blogland who value you and your opinions...

I also read about your mishap with the large mud puddle. Sounds like maybe biking is dangerous to your health. Please do be more careful. I would miss your Blogs.

You can fall even if you not a klutzy, here is what happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I went riding just after at rained the night before so the trail had a lot of sticks around. So I am starting a smaller up hill and there were 2 guys on rollerblades, so I said on you left. The guy on the right heard me and pulled his friend toward him, but his friend had headphones on and did hear me. The then pulls out of his friends grip and goes left right as I was passing him. Down I went did a slide on my left and hit my head he never fell his friend either. Broke my light, my tool bag strap broke and tools fell out across the road. So these two guys are just standing there and the one who body slammed me said there was a stick in the road that why he went left. I am still on the ground bleeding from my lip, shoulder, arm and leg. Lucky I had a helmet on because I hit the ground hard. This guy still is saying well there was a stick in the road what could I do, I looked and this stick was only 4 inches long and 1/4 inch thick. Another bike saw what happened and had stopped, he said to the 2 of them you knocked him over help him up, so after a few min they did. Then they went off on their way. The other bike got off his bike and helped me pick up all my stuff which was really nice of him. I got everything together and finished off my ride for the night. I was ok a little banged up but I got over it.

that sounded like a bad one...but it wasn't your fault...when there is no one else around and you fall because you get over confident or maybe a bit complacent becasue you have ridden the trail so many times i would still call it clutziness...

had i been paying more attention to where i was going instead of daydreaming it would not have happened...
