Serendipity Obituary of a Recent Love

My lover died recently from complications of losing his soul mate. He was 31 years old. The soft spoken and obsessive man never looked the part of a hopeless romantic. But, in the final days of his life, he revealed an unknown side of his psyche. This quasi-union persona surfaced during the Agatha Christi-like pursuit for his long reputed soul mate . . . a woman who he only spent a few precious moments with. Sadly, the protracted search ended early Sunday morning in complete and utter failure. Yet even in certain defeat the courageous man secretly clung to the belief that life is not merely a series of meaningless accidents or coincidences, but rather, it’s a tapestry of events that culminate in an exquisite sublime plan. His friends described him as a changed man in the last days of his life. Things were clearer for him. Ultimately he concluded that if we are to live life in harmony with the universe, we must all possess a powerful faith in which the ancients used to call fate . . . what we currently refer to as destiny.

Sometimes when you decide that a relationship has to end, it can be like grieving . . . like death. In my mind, he is dead so I thought an obituary was in order. It helps me move forward and eliminate him from my mind, AND to convince myself that it was HIS loss.
