Another Man's Trash . . .

My life is like your
typical junk drawer.
odds & ends (my hopes and dreams),
bits & pieces (memories)
this & that (broken promises)
scattered about my heart
hidden away in my mind.
I'm trying to
do my damnedest
to sort through this clutter and
throw away those things
I no longer have a use for.
However, it's difficult.

I may not need
a long dead AAA battery,
or a shoestring,
or a paperclip
but who knows when I will need
the remembrance of:
my desire for things both big & small
or your eyes smiling at me,
or a lesson well-learned (although painfully).

Thank God for
packrats like me who are
never too hasty
to discard anything.
Because you never know
just exactly when you may need
that so-called junk.

It's funny how one thinks that "hey, I might night need this someday" tosses it in a drawer, then a year later comes across it again and wonders "what in the hell did I save this for?" To date, I think I have 2 drawers full of this stuff. lol

Musical prose - there's a beautiful, spiritual side that your profile doesn't portray. Thank you for sharing a precious gift from within your soul...

From one packrat to another...Your words are from my soul...too much stuff that may have value and too much that may have none...the wisdom and strenth to 'junk' drawer looks amazingly like yours.
