A Wink is Just a Wink

As members of this web site we like to browse the profiles doing what we laughingly refer to as "cock shopping", and when we find a profile we find interesting we send a wink. It's not sent to indicate that we really want to meet neccessarily, but more as a "thumbs up" of encouragement that your profile does catch a browsers interest for one reason or another (ie. a nice cock pic or a rare honesty in your profile) and nothing more.
Furthermore, writing to thank someone for a wink doesn't obligate them to respond, after all you don't write back to say "you're welcome" in response to every thank you note you get in life, the "welcome" is assumed by most.
You need to be able to take a lot of rejection if you're going to play here, and will be lucky to actually connect with a match ever in many cases.

Interesting perspective! I agree with the premise of "giving a thumbs up", which is great! Encouragment does go with the rejection. But still do not understand why it so hard for some to say "Thanks, but no thanks", especially when they are a Silver or Gold member, with unlimited emails or replies. I do understand the limits of the standard member being restricted in replies. Especially if one winks back!

Maybe it is your "better half" who winked in the first place???

It's a nice thought, but it is the male who browses and initiates all contact with men and she handles finding the ladies to join us.

I used to find it frustrating that people would wink and not respond to an email, but it's just part of the territory. If a gold or silver winks me, I don't bother ever - if they don't write an email then I just take that as a thumbs up. I only bother to respond to winks if it's a standard member and I really like the profile, so I don't bother with a "thank you" for every wink - used to be I would, but it's not worth it now.
