I had my annual Girly Check Up a few weeks ago. It was as usual. No surprises. Yesterday I got a letter from my Doctor that read;
Dear, Canyaz,
I am happy to inform you, your pap test came back normal.
Thank you, Dr. Miranda
Ladies, have you received this kind of notice? Usually I get the pathology report telling me there are normal cells. I just found it odd. Good but odd.

Wonder what the note would say if it was inconclusive and they had to redo it?
canyaz replies on 8/10/2008 11:20 am: Um, I am glad it didn't. LOL |

Nope, not me. The greatest birth control device and preventer of disease or cancer! Get the "pap" taken out! ha.
Yeah, I know, I am making fun of a serious subject. But after years of dilation and scraping to get a 'good test' only to have to go back and have it done again (really, they could never give me a good reason..??), I had the whole shebang removed. (ha, shebang) Anyhoo, I am a pap test free zone! YEAHHHH!
The downside? No kiddies... but hey, life hands you lemons, you make grapefruit juice, if you're lucky, right? Cheers!

Maybe you have a very good relationship with your doctor.
I don't care what the people say. I know where their jive is at!
canyaz replies on 8/10/2008 11:21 am: It was the first time I had seen her. My OB retired. |

OK, never having received any such report, guess I don't see what was so strange. A letter from the doctor as opposed to the report from the lab? The "friendly" tone of the letter? (Although you may have edited it some for posting.)

canyaz replies on 8/10/2008 11:24 am: A personal not from the doctor is very rare. That it was friendly, even more so. |

I received a letter exactly like that once too. My only thought was, what if this letter was sent to the wrong person.
Usually, I call within a couple weeks to make sure everything is fine.

canyaz replies on 8/10/2008 11:25 am: Yeah that has been the norm in the past. I had a great relationship with my previous OB. So I was just surprised when I got it from the new one. |
