When life gets crazy, I bake. I cook. I create and while doing so, I work out the problem or emotion. Baking is an exact science with many fun possibilities. I hate to follow a recipe. I use them more as a lose guideline. So if I feel the dough needs a pinch of this or a dash of that, well, lets just say I have had many happy accidents. A few failures too. My best happy accident, I named, "Stuff-n-the-muffin" I had some day old muffins. Four different flavors. Banana nut, Lemon Poppy seed, Blueberry and Chocolate chip. I broke them up in a bowl and added milk, eggs and a bit of sugar. Dumped into a baking pan and Voila! Muffin bread pudding! Each bite gives you a different flavor. The blueberry mixes with the chocolate and the lemon mixes with the banana and the snozberries mix...oh wait, wrong movie! LOL. Seriously. try it if you like bread pudding, you will love this. Yesterday, I made house faves. Peanut butter cookies and Oatmeal Chocolate chip cookies. The family loved them. They even helped. Now did I get my mind in working order...I will be baking orange garlic bread later...what do you think? There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ. |

My son loves to cook, My daughter loves to bake. When they were little they used to bargain. "Come on Jason, make me breakfast!...OK, That will cost you on dozen oatmeal raisin cookies! I miss those times. My idea of a recipe is to open the fridge, take out a NA beer, look over the fridge for available ingredients, and go back to watch the news for an hour while the ingredients marinade in my subconscious mind. Then I go back in the kitchen and combine what I have come up with. It makes it tough when someone says,"I love that, can you make it again?

I can devour Banana nut bread!!!!! Peanut butter and Oatmeal are my favorites too! Along with Blueberry, Cherry and Lemon Meringue pie! OH!!!!!!!!!!! I can't forget Cheesecake!!!! My pops makes a killer Cheesecake!!!! I make myself sick on the stuff LOL Are you one of those women that bakes at three in the morning?  Will ya mail me some Banana bread?  I can get my own glass of milk with ice in it. Just send the banana bread!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh. I'll pass on the orange garlic bread  I don't care what the people say. I know where their jive is at!

Peanut Butter Cookies?!? Where's mine?!? I'll take 6 dozen!!! They are my absolute Favs!!! I take the recipe and ALWAYS add more crunchy peanut butter. I like mine soft and chewy with nuts...

I understand...for me I cook <----------- (not good at baking) Because baking requires more attention to detail...and I'm using it as a way to "let off steam" I have trouble with the juggle. I bet the family is happy you have things to work out.

I always thought "stuff-n-the-muffin" had an entirely different connotation.
