What to do with 3lbs. of Cock?

Ha! Made you look! Well since your here, and I have your attention...
As many of you have found out from a certain previous blog entry of mine, I have a bit of a sense of humor in titling them at times. So as to not disappoint you, I'll include a JOKE and a recipe this time around.

What do you get when you cross a rooster and a telephone poll?

A thirty foot long cock that wants to 'reach out and touch someone'.

All joking a side, here is what to do with 3lbs. of cock...

Excerpt from 'K's Casa de Pollo'

'Pot of Love' Chicken Soup

3lbs. 'bone in' chicken, any cut or whole
3 or 4 cans of chicken broth (low sodium)
1/2 cup each finely chopped
-carrot
-celery
-onion
A few sprigs of fresh parsley, chopped fine
1/2 cup dry white or blush wine
1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground black pepper (I like pepper, so I use more! )
At least 24 oz. if not 36, of frozen egg noodles (more if you like the noodles a lot)

Combine all the ingredients in a large stew pot, except for the egg noodles, leave those in the freezer for now. Use all the broth you like, or add water , so that liquid covers all of the chicken. Bring pot to a steady medium boil for about 15-20 minutes. Cock is done when juice runs clear. Pull out the cock and allow to cool for a few. Keep broth and veggies boiling and add the frozen noodles now. Add water or broth to cover all if needed. Cook them according to directions, stopping a few minutes shy (because they'll continue to cook for a bit), only, please, don't drain them when they're done, the liquid is the broth for the soup!
While the noodles are cooking, separate the fat(if you left it on) from the meat, and the meat from the bone. You can always use boneless or skinless, if you prefer, but if you do, you'll only need 2 to 2 1/2lbs. of cock. Once meat is cleaned and separated, add it back into the pot. Stir around, add salt to taste. If you like more broth, add water or another can to suit your taste.

Cooking is like good sex to me. If time and effort are spent making it, it shows in the results. And if either the food or the sex are superb, you lay back afterwards, thinking to yourself, "Damn, I really didn't think anything could be that good!"

Bon Apetit, K.
