The men don't know, but the little girls understand...

Jim Morrison.

What a sexy drunk motherfucker! Lewd and Lascivious! Imagine him getting arrested today, the judge would laugh his ass off as he dismissed the charges!
As far as a poet goes, as a vocalist goes...
He enthralls me. I was 15 when I started listening to The Doors (Thanks Danno!). I could match him note for note, knew every song, memorized 'Live at the Hollywood Bowl', owned shit buy the guys they still haven't re-released! Wanted to become a drunk poet on Venice Beach... Ahh, the bliss and stupidity of youth!

Then came the hit movie...

Every dolt I knew knew my secret. Every moron wanted to be my hero. I became disenfranchised with the new franchise. I was glad people enjoyed the music, but damn, why did I feel cheated. Lost.
Besides, now Val Kilmer was Jim to every one.
Not quite my vision of Jim. Not that I mind Val, I just got more from the book than the movie, as usual.
It was also interesting to see what the rest of the band was up to now (then), see them play again.

Why all this fuss? Why bring it up?

I just needed a 'Jim' fix and thought I would share with you, in case you have nothing better to do than read my thoughts incarnate.

Today's selection, 'Backdoor Man', enjoy!

Wha, yeah!
C'mon, yeah
Yeah, c'mon, yeah
Yeah, c'mon
Oh, yeah, ma
Yeah, I'm a back door man
I'm a back door man
The men don't know
But the little girl understand
Hey, all you people that tryin' to sleep
I'm out to make it with my midnight dream, yeah
'Cause I'm a back door man
The men don't know
But the little girls understand
All right, yeah
You men eat your dinner
Eat your pork and beans
I eat more chicken
Than any man ever seen, yeah, yeah
I'm a back door man, wha
The men don't know
But the little girls understand
Well, I'm a back door man
I'm a back door man
Whoa, baby, I'm a back door man
The men don't know
But the little girls understand

Thanks Jim, where ever you are.

One of my absolute favorite songs. The way Jim sings it is soooooooo sexy. Thanks to Howlin' Wolf for writing it and to Jim for such a wonderful rendition.

Oops, make that thanks to Willie Dixon for having written it. Howlin' Wolf does another pretty incredible rendition.
